The Worst Thing About Being A Cowboys Fan

The worst part of being a Cowboys fan is putting up with all the hatred and taunting that comes with being a team that is popular (kind of like being a Yankees or Lakers fan).......................without the benefit of enjoying the winning that fans of popular teams like the Yankees or Lakers usually get to enjoy.


It's kind of like the worst of both worlds for a sports fan.

I think one of the great things about the off-season is counting all the smilies 5Stars uses in his posts.

I believe the high water mark was last year when he used 2419.

But he may be on pace to break that this year.

Hands down the worst thing about being a Cowboys fan is watching other Cowboy fans lazily suck up idiotic anti-Cowboy media BS, buy into it, preach it, defend it even after it has been proven factually incorrect, and re-post it ad nauseam praying that the repeated exposure of their ill-founded media contrived regurgitation will somehow amass a following of additional ill-informed and equally gullible minions.

There are plenty of "valid" reasons to bash the Cowboys without being such media sheep.

The funny part is I never see any true cowboys fan spew hate toward a skin fan unprovoked.

I gotta be honest, I am kinda meh on the Cowboys right now. Probably because I don't know any. You are a division rival which matters to me and the talk here is fun

If anything I "hate" the 49ers and Steelers more. Cowboy fans in the DC area have gone in hiding.

For me, if I hate the Cowboys less right now it's because their fan base as a whole has become less arrogant with each 8-8 season and lack of playoff birth. It actually was noticeable in 2011 as well, they've been focusing more on Jerruh, Garrett and Romo, and seem irritated that the team currently has been tarnishing the franchise's rich history of success.

They're also pointing out things about their team that many Skins fans had been pointing out about the Cowboys (Jerruh the GM, Wade/Garrett as coaches, team not nearly as talented as advertised, etc.). So it became "Ok, you guys now see what we've been seeing" lol...yes, as a Skins fan I'll describe it in more negative terms lol ...but still the underlying issues are now being (and have been) discussed quite a lot among Cowboys fans.

Still, I absolutely LOVED that it was the Cowboys and Commanders fighting for the division title in the last game, and not the Skins and Giants or Skins and Eagles (that would have been depressing lol). I hate the Giants almost as much as the Cowboys now, but the Skins/Boys have an incredible historic rivalry that was nice to somewhat relive in the last game of last year. As far as I'm concerned the Eagles and Giants can slump back to consecutive losing seasons for awhile and let Dallas and Washington constantly fight for the division.

I don't know, I think there are similarities. I'm just glad we are not like the Commanders or the Orioles. That would truly be worse then anything imaginable.

Its not the hate. I know why we're hated - everybody else is just jealous, I get that.

The absolute worst thing about being a Cowboys fans is we get compared to the Yankees, Celtics or Lakers, and Montreal Canadiens. And we get all the front runners on our band wagon.

We are not like the Yankees in any way shape or form IMO. The Skankees have a fan base of idiots like no other, well except maybe the Red Sox. Cowboys fans are some of the classiest most decent people among fans of all sports teams. That can never be said about Yankee fans! The Yankees always seem to get the calls in their favor. MLB favors the Yankees. The NFL has never favored the Cowboys in the same regard.

We arent like the Celtics or Lakers.

We arent like the Montreal Canadiens.

And I hate being associated with the front runner fans that follow those other teams.

How so? Both teams get a ton of press, and haven't won in a long time. It could be argued Cowboys are more like Maple Leafs but even that is a stretch. We are the Montreal Canadiens of the NFL.
