These cheating refs are out of control. I’m sick of it!

It’s one of the reasons why I don’t get invested in NFL football anymore. I abandoned the NBA years ago cause of their game rigging. The NFL has just about pushed me away.
I’m tired of the refs purposefully keeping games close so there are constantly dramatic endings for the higher ratings and ad money payouts.
Yep, I was a NY Knicks season ticket holder back in the eraly 90's. Don't watch the NBA anymore (Love college basketball, go Uconn!).

The Cowboys and the NFL were on a high pedestal since the early 60's. I have had the Sunday Ticket since it's inception and has missed maybe 2-3 games since then.

The NFL has changed, can't say for sure that it is fixed, nor can I say for sure it isn't. Since gambling on NFL games became legal (all over the US, not just Vegas), I have my real doubts.

I think the officiating has been worse than I've ever seen watching football games across the board, even in college football this year.

That non PI call on philly (I think towards the end of the game) was ridiculous, but what was even more ridiculous was in the picture, you could see the ref NOT even looking at the play and he apparently looking at something else.

That said, it wasn't a referee who kicked a 59 yard field goal in the rain with time running out to force over time. It also wasn't the referees that allowd Philly to march 75 yards for the winning touchdown. As for Brown's "fumble", I'm not going to lie and say I complete understand the ruling because I've seen it been call so many different ways per the letter of the law.

It also wasn't the refs who blocked what turned out to be a very important extra point for the bills that even allowed that 59 yard field goal attempt to be made.

I'm not defending philly, just pointing out that they seem to capitalize and take advantage of everything they get and they don't piss it away for a loss.

I would prefer Dallas beat them by 3 points or less in both the home game and in the playoffs vs blowing them out in the last season game and winning throughout the playoffs. We had the ball at the 6 yard line with a first and goal. The refs didn't stop us from scoring, we did.

If it isn't an egregious foul... let them play. Thats how it should be every week.
this is a slippery slope. If you stop calling ticky tack fouls, then all players will be trained to commit ticky tack fouls. And then there will be pass interference on every receiver ever play, and you’re leaving it up to ref’s discretion on how egregious it is. Then what even is PI if this ref, that ref, and that other ref are calling it completely different from one another?

Seeing refs miss multiple calls every game may be bad, but that scenario could be much, much worse.

You have to remember that it’s not so much the number of penalties one team has versus the other it’s the timing of penalties. The refs on the field will generally see a penalty on every single play. Holding, per the rules could literally be called on every single snap. They selectively choose when to call it. Hence, controlling somewhat the outcome of the game.

The refs have no reason to have an agenda against any owner.

Incompetence doesn’t mean there”s a conspiracy.

There is ZERO reason for the NFL to manipulate games. It’s already the highest rated and most profitable sport. What’s the upside?

Now the downside? If the NFL gets caught manipulating games:
They would lose tons of fans
Sportsbooks would sue the NFL into oblivion.
Gamblers would sue the NFL into oblivion
Congress would absolutely go after their antitrust status

I always love people that throw conspiracy theories out there without thinking through the cost / benefit. There is literally no benefit for the NFL to manipulate games.

Season in and season out these refs keep helping the dirty birds, chiefs and used to help the patriots. Buffalo should have won that game!!!!! They were robbed! I am sick and tired of watching the same stupid biased cheating ref calls and non calls over and over and over and over and over. These refs are out of control! It doesn’t matter if we go 10-7, 12-5 or 17-0! We will walk into the playoffs and the refs will hit us with an uppercut!! Oh I hate it!!!
You are right...Sad but, true. The Commish rules the refs with an iron hand and likes the gambling revenue. So, you can forget the Cowboys ever sniffing another SB cause the Commish has it in for Jerry. Jerry burnt too many bridges with the Commish.

I don't know about conspiracies, but on the blatant PI on the sideline, a ref was in the camera forefront, and he didn't turn his head at all to watch the play.

I understand that they have assignments, but this is ridiculous. Neither the Bills coaching staff, nor any of the players, protested on any egregious calls.

Seemed like a well called game to me. Not sure what you’re talking about.

In fact, I’m amazed at how good the refs are year in and year out. The game is so fast, have you ever been on the sideline for a pro game? I have, It’s shockingly fast. I have no idea how they get things right as much as they do.

These threads are a joke and tiresome. So
Any team that’s successful is in the refs pocket and somehow it’s all one league wide conspiracy against us? Weird considering the Bills got multiple calls to get them in a position to win. I guess the ref used his magic wand or energy fingers to affect Allen’s errant pass to a wide open Davis in OT.

Right. And the soft roughing the passer on the flop by Allen, the two (very real) false starts on Kelce (that the biased refs should have just ignored) and the shocking way in which the refs moved the goalposts forward by 10 yards to allow Elliot to hit the game tying 59 (I mean 49) yard field goal in terrible conditions. The refs FIXED it!!!!
I won’t dabble in conspiracies but there’s no doubt that there are teams that tend to seem to get the benefit of the doubt (as someone pointed out, the Pats) and Philly appears to be one of those teams.

The whole missed horse collar but let’s call intentional grounding is the kind of thing Philly has seen all year long. 10 penalties to one in the first half? The Miami game where they had no penalties? That stuff is just odd.

The big problem is the NON calls. It’s very easy to look away and not call a penalty. They usually get the actual penalties correct. Lotsa money goin on in the NFL…..just sayin……

I rarely disagree with you but I do on this point. I would rather see the players play and duke it out with only clear fouls being called. The ticky tacky plays where the ball wasn't even catchable or both players had a bit of a pull being called as fouls are killing the game in my view. Ironically one such flag iced the Superbowl for the Chiefs against the Eagles when similar ticky tacky calls had not been called for the entire game beforehand and NFL fans missed out on seeing whether Hurts could have marched the Eagles down to win the Superbowl.

The officiating, overall, has been abominable. I can't say the poor quality of the stripe shirts benefits any team(s), but there is a solution to help remediate this glaring issue. Allow anything to be fair game for the coach's challenges.

It’s darn near impossible to beat a team of Philly’s caliber when the calls are as one sided as they were yesterday. What is odd is that it’s not the first time it’s happened this year. Not a tin foil hat kind of gal but it sure is odd.
