Think any players kneel tomorrow night?

Sir, I don't know where you grew up and nor do I care. I was told by my father to always remove my cap and cross my heart, and take a moment to thank our veterans for giving their lives so that my generation was protected. This was while listening to the National Anthem being played.

I don't care what "it's" about. I don't have to like "it". And others don't have to feel the way I do about not liking it. That's the beauty of this country. I believe the players should be grateful to play a children's game and make millions doing it. I believe that taking a knee does nothing to further the causes for which this action represents.

I believe that pro-sports should be a lifting experience to divert us from whatever our day to day live stressors might be. It should be a community building experience, and it should be fun.

As for the flag by laws. When I am appointed head-flag handler, I'll be sure to look those over.

Sports have never been the safe space you describe. Sports and politic have been intertwined for millennia. You should note that this type of safe space was stated when Robinson broke the color barrier and Ali protested the Vietnam War.

You are a customer. You don't get to go into Home Depot and dicate store policy because you buy some plywood. Your megalomania is about all I see here.
Well, If all I'm doing here is trying to make a blind man see then my conversing with you is quite futile.

I support my claims of your megalomania with the specific examples of you claiming victory in an internet argument and you claiming that you are qualified to dictate policy to the NFL.

We both know you cannot do the same in kind.
Your opinions of me have never matter, never will. I have an opinion just as anyone else does on the subject at hand. Your premise that I claim a dictatorial stance on NFL policy is unfounded. I'm but one voice and the only reason you oppose it is because it differs from yours, which is your right. Overstate the elephant in the room much?

Privileged Americans so well protected by their armed forces that they can collectively find 'unity' in disrespecting their sacrifice and think nothing of it.

Then turn around and pretend they fought and died to preserve your right to disrespect them.

NFL games are one of the only opportunities soldiers get to unwind during the week while on deployment, it saddens me that thousands of men and women stationed overseas had to tune in and witness that bull**** yesterday.

There are better ways to do this. The military is a gold standard in regards to people of all races, colors, creeds working together for the same goal. It's something we should point to and celebrate, not mock.

I oppose it because I believe in property rights and that a business owner can do with his own business as he sees fit within the laws. That is how it is bearing out in reality.

And as I predicted you could not back your claims of my ignorance. You may think that backing one's opinion with facts and logic doesn't matter but that does not make it so.

The Armed Services guide for flags specifically states it is not disrespectful to sit or kneel.

The collective wars in the Middle East and American foreign policy in general is a greater threat to the "privileged Americans" than the mythical boogeyman we're always hearing about who is waiting to take our freedom from us.

You know what's more disrespectful to the armed forces than kneeling at the anthem? Sending them to die in unnecessary wars.

The same advocates for honoring the flag are the first to call to send our solders into war.

You design the litmus test, administer it, and are the independent arbitrator of its results. How shocking you only see what you want to see. :omg:

You love to play games as long as you get to lay down the rules and dictate who wins. I'm not playing your game so cry about it a while. :muttley: Checkmate!!!

That's an excellent point, sir, but what transpires is that Home Depot loses your business and if enough customers don't agree with store policy it goes bye, bye.

Let the consumer decide and that's what's happening right now, good, bad, or indifferent

You've resorted to mindless characterizations. Let's rejoin what is being protested.

Do you disagree with the following seeing that this is what they are protesting for:

Police enjoy extra rights over the public that protect them from investigation and prosecution.
The standards for use of force need to be reformed.
Police do not receive near enough training.
There is an inherent conflict of interest in how police investigations and prosecutions are normally conducted.
Police policies like stop and frisk and broken windows are ineffective and disproportionately target minorities.

I am hoping that no one on the Boys sideline takes a knee, would love to show that we are Americas Team...Show the rest of the 3rd rate franchises that we are special. I kind of like the idea of making ourselves a target to the rest of the league. F em all...

So you hope they abide by what your beliefs are to fit your personal narrative? Heaven forbid they think on their own and different from you.

America's Team? Stop. That was a phrase given to us by an NFL Films guy. Quit making that moniker bigger than it really is.

I really hope some do kneel so all the flag worshiping Murica fans lose their minds. It's like going to the zoo and being entertained.

What do you not understand about "not playing your game". None of those things have anything to with playing a game on Sunday. Taking a knee during the playing of a song doesn't move the goal post any closer to solving any of those things. Rather than resorting to empty gestures that solve nothing, these players that claim to actually care about such things should write a check to support their cause and volunteer their off duty time to help in meaningful ways to make a real difference. Schedule a meeting with police, write their legislators. Taking a knee is the wrong way to make the right gesture.

Do you have that right at your place of work? Maybe you are an employer, do you allow your employees to protest at your front door? Not questioning whether they have the right to protest, just do it n your own time.

This is not solely for the benefit of you. I am showing everyone your intellectual courage and honesty. As Aristotle stated, "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

It's obvious that you are desperately trying to deflect from what they are actually protesting. I will continue to rejoin whether or not you participate.
