Ok Sydia so what do you want them to do? You want them to go out and buy a defense? Go out and buy AJ Green? What do you want them to do? You want them to build a contender overnight when its not that easy.

They need to do a better job in FA. They do need to spend more in FA to sign an upper echelon pass rusher or two. I'm not saying madden-esque craziness. But you have to use FA to your advantage sometimes. There's a balance you gotta have between being conservative and taking chances in FA IMO.

What's moronic is thinking free agency is going to fix your problems. Free agency is full of guys who other teams don't want or don't want to overpay.

Cowboys did it the right way. You can complain about a lot....but as of right now the defense looks to have the pieces just looks to be inexperienced but what other way to get experience than to actually play your guys?

Yes. You are right. FA never helps a team close to contending fill a key hole. Like how adding Ware didn't help Denver.

But I get it. You are in full blown excuse mode now.

And no, I don't think the D has the pieces. They have no real safeties and are counting on Wood to eventually seize a spot. They might have a MLB issue if Smith can't improve. They lack a dominant 1 tech. And even with Lawrence they aren't a consistent pass rushing threat. Their best defender is over 30 in Lee and probably won't be as good 3 years from now when the D finally might be competed.

Oh and they have an average DC.

But other than that, the D is awesome.

To be fair the broncos won a SB hitting big on free agency. It does work sometimes. We need a RDE desperately. If you look at roster breakdowns we’re at the bottom of $ spent in secondary and DL and it shows big time.

It works "sometimes". But let's be honest here.....did the Bronco's win because of Ward, Talib, etc. or did they win but drafting Von Miller? Do those same pieces work if Von Miller isn't there?

Giants spent 200 million on that defense and right now they are 0-4. They spent all of their money to fix a need and now other needs have popped up and they don't have any resources to spend it on.

Patriots had a championship team last season and went out and spent all of this money on Brandon Cooks, Stephen Gilmore, etc. just to be 2-2 and having 2 home losses.

Spending more money doesn't equate to more success.

Well it’s a combination. We’re at the point where a huge FA signing or 2 could catapult us near the top. It needs to be defensively.

LAwrence has been injured and suspended here as well. Don't get me wrong........i'd take him on my team but i'd be more interested in finding a linebacker or a situational pass rusher. Not sure if spending max money on Ansah is the smart way to invest in this defense.

I didn't advocate spending 200 million.......my point is the Giants went out and got pass rushers and run stoppers and great corner with that money....they spent the money wisely.....but its done nothing to help them.

Dak was part of the problem today. Said it before, I'll day it again, Dak is amongst the worst QB's in the league this year (on tape). I don't know what happened this off-season, but he's taken a massive step back. I hate it too, got to hang out with him this off-season, he's a quality guy with a capital Q...
