This division is ridiculously bad and Dallas gets to play the other Division's garbage next year due to their last place finish. That alone is reason for hope.
Exactly and there is one common theme for those aforementioned teams with the exception of the Broncos at the moment the have very good to great QB play the exception is Osweiler and he's been pretty good so far in that Bronco offense but the juror is still out on him as their QB of the future.Haha. I agree. While the Steelers, Broncos, Patriots, Packers, and recently the Seahawks are playoff bound year in and year out with talk of possible Super Bowl aspirations in February, we only hope to make the playoffs once every 5 years or so.
I think I just spilled my half-full glass. There's always next season. Sigh.
Yea this year sucked but... I really don't think this team is anywhere near as bad they appear. Most positions on this team look like we have a capable person filling it, the entire o-line, WR, the d-line looks to be really good (especially DE), our LBs when healthy are some of the best in the league, and even our secondary is looking better than I thought possible when the season began (coming in at 6 in passing yards per game, and no we haven't been blown out that much so it's not that teams are giving up on their pass game). If we score 3 more points in each of our games, we are in the playoff race, we score a TD more, we are 10-4... try telling me Romo doesn't make that much difference.
We need a few more tools on defense (and hopefully get Hardy and McClain back), we need a new RB to go with McFadden (who has surprised me this year), and most of all we need a guy capable of coming in for Romo when he takes his annual sabbatical. This is a lot like the 2011 Colts or even last years Vikings, we are missing that one guy that the whole game revolves around, but we will be back next year better than ever (with that being said, who knows if I will watch anymore professional football between now and the Super Bowl). *Puts on flame proof vest* okay tell me how wrong and stupid I am, I am ready.
You simply can't have a discussion around here without responses like "Coaching staff sucks fire everyone".
It's getting tiresome and boring. Every. Single.Thread.
Didnt Shanahan win 12 games with a fraud at QB that didnt know how to read a defense? In a system/scheme that produced in spite of the player?
What was his record once everyone figured out the read option and he got injured? The QB matters.
The real question is what was Shanahan's overall record without a franchise QB? Why narrow it down to Washington? He won games with Brian Griese, Jake Plummer and a young Jay Cutler and RGIII, all of whom made the Pro-Bowl under Shanahan. I completely agree that it's tough to win without a franchise QB and no one should expect that Garrett can make a SB run without one. But this idea that a coach can't win without one is ludicrous.
What Shanny did in one year with RGMe is more creative than Garrett will be in his entire career.

Actually it was his son. And if I'm not mistaken wasn't his play calling duties stripped from Garrett by the owner? Who was complaining about coaching last year when we were 12-4 and no one expected us to be that good. The problem is that we caught a lot of breaks and aren't as talented as what we thought we were. It comes down to the players. The Cardinals can win with whoever they have at QB because they are stacked everywhere else. Their coach maximizes their talented. The problem is that you can't make chicken soup with ch
Whaaaaaat? I thot we were to be patient as Garrett has been building this roster the last 5 years to be a perennial contender, and now you're telling me it really hasnt been built?
Is he building the roster? I thought King Jerry was the GM?

According to the Garrett Apologists its Red thats changed the entire culture and draft mentality at VR.
I think that its a testament to his coaching that the team has not given up on him despite a terrible year. I think Will McClay has as much to do with any changes that have occurred with regards to the draft. We don't have a terrible roster. However, safety is terrible minus Byron Jones. We need better corners, a 1 technique, a RB, RT, WR, and of coarse a developmental/back up QB.
We have a good offensive line. Dez will be better next year with an offseason under his belt and further recovered from that injury. Romo changes everything when healthy. Defensive ends are promising. Linebackers were good. Would have been nice to have Scandrick this year.
Garrett has been hamstrung by some personnel decisions. I don't think he would have gotten rid of Murray (though I do think it was the best decision in the long run) and I don't think he would have signed Hardy. I think those were both Jones moves.
Im not so sure he wasnt all for the Hardy signing.
I have no proof but it doesn't really go for his RKG talk. He also looked upset when we drafted Randy Gregory in the war room.
Yet he's talked about Hardy being a hard worker and leader
