Tight End Speed

I know that pretty much anyone other than a paraplegic could outrun Witten, so I am sure we upped our tight end speed over Witten. But does anyone know if any of these guys has any significant speed. Hanna did, but that ship sailed. Anything close to the 4.5 that's Hanna ran?

No. Not a one of them have any speed whatsoever and the slowest, most plodding of the group is that rapper fella.

This is probably the worst group of TEs the Cowboys have ever fielded minus maybe their initial entry into the league.

The mighty Rico runs a 4 flat and can jump 15 feet.

Witten was never fast but he knew how to get open and make plays. Speed isn't everything. Some of you guys need to put the timers down and watch the football player.

They are all kinda slow If Witten had not retired he would be the starter

Schultz
—A true dual-threat tight end who balanced the job of being a lead blocker and a receiver.

—Plays with a mean streak and looks for work as a blocker. Won't shy away from defenders no matter his assignment.

—Has a lean, athletic frame and can shake defenders with the ball in his hands.

—Uses his hands well as a blocker and will lock on and drive defenders off the edge. Was almost an extra lineman at Stanford.

—Explosive short-area athlete who can create space for himself as a route-runner.

NEGATIVES

—Oddly built at 6'5 ⅜” and 244 pounds, but with 31 ¼” arms and a wingspan of only 75 ⅜”.

Trust me when i tell you..Not many tightends have speed..Its always about wingspan, jumping ability or arm length..

RICO IS a beast at 6-6 to 6-8 But has basketball hands and shields well..

JARWIN Same but a lil smaller

SWAIM has much better hands catching than he gets credit for, But his blocking ability best of the bunch.

SHULTZY Good blocker like Swaim and was used in more of a proset offense. SOME fullback, some lead, he is a mauler...Likes to put you down and lean on ya..

RICO has the best hands and probably most athletic but his blocking is ugly and he should blow people up..I hope he gets it but he pops off..Today i heard him day something stupid like i dont block like the other tightends do...

BAHAHAHA. his production was pretty pedestrian just like swaim and Jarwin in colllege!

Point is that cowboys want a outstanding blocker and a dependable catching tightend..although swaim only has 9 catches, he has only been thrown to 11 times..so about 80% catch clip..Rico caught some decent passing in the preseason last year..

I HAVENT seen anything from Jarwin but he is pretty athletic..doesnt mean anything till you get them on the field

I SUSPECT Jarwin and Swaim are your starters..Rico will be spotted here and there and shultzy be brought along slow unless injury or he picks up the offense quickly, but normally cowboys kind of redshirt TEds been that way forever
