Tight End Speed

No..not now..

Twill 6-2 4.5 Runs okay routes, decent blocker but nothing more than a avg 2,in production..less last few years likes the comeback route!

Yes, he has been a decent player despite a lot of fan hate.

His issue is that he has several limitations.

He is not good at catching really long go-route type passes. He seems to have trouble judging the ball the go-route.

He also has the very odd limitation of struggling with short passes. If the distance between him and the QB is short, he seems to struggle. It appears that he needs the ball to be in the air a little longer in order to "see" it well.

He does run good intermediate routes but the limitations put limits on the OC in terms of designing/calling plays.

Witten is very quick, which is generally a better trait to have than pure speed for a TE.

Everyone seems to just want the speed these days. Like I said before, some people here need to put the stop watches aside and watch the football player.

This is why I like Schultz to win the job at TE. He's a grinder and never got a chance to show all of his talents at Stanford.

Who needs a dude that spells Witten, Whitten telling any of us anything about Dallas Cowboys TEs? He claims to bring the knowledge, but he's not fooling anyone.

I made you run around for 10 minutes

SO thats the reason you want him to play? ...

I gave up on him before they signed him to that last contract..He has no heart..In 2015 i realized he just not a very consistent receiver..His best season was 2014 and gone down hill ever since...This last fiasco where he blamed another player in the NFL about it i think..if he stays with an assigment to the ir..im.good with that!

The funny thing is, reading your breakdown (great summary BTW) while thinking about his face plant into the pavement makes you wonder if he didn't think he had more time before he needed to put his hands down to slow his fall. :)

Shhhh. I was trying to let him off the hook easy. I've been in enough trouble.

I think Schultz is going to be s good tight end and he studies Witten film has for a while

LOL in 10 years people will have stories saying Witten ran a 4.3

The crap said about legendary players is hilarious and how it grows over time.

Everyone was calling him the next Jason Witten before the draft. He was by far the most complete TE in the draft but never had a chance to show it. I get to see a lot of Pac-12 football here out west and the Cowboys got a steal with Schultz. I was hoping the Cowboys would draft him and Witten would be his mentor for a year. I'll take one out of two though.
