Dez's 1 completely healthy game this year where Dak was looking to get him the ball he had 7 catches for 107 yards.

Had Dez not been hurt early in the Bears game, he tops 100 yards in that one too, easily. Recall he had 40 yards & 1 TD on only 3 catches.

The issue with Dez is health and the limited offense we're running under a rookie QB. The training wheels are coming off a little bit more each game, but they are still on there.

Any game where Dez is healthy, plays the entire game, and has Dak actually looking for him, I fully expect Dez to be targeted 7-10 times and have 100+ yards.

Bryant can still be an asset. The Club has proven that it doesn't need him to win. That alone could improve his attitude and keep him quiet on the sidelines etc etc. That will boost the team concept and team spirit.
Exactly HR having a WR like Dez now is a luxury and having QBs like Tony, and Dak neither one doesn't really need a superstar WR to flourish in this league and QBs like these don't come around very often and based on what I've seen with Dak he's a perfect fit for this Garrett/Linehan offense who adds a running element not seen in many Air Coryell style QBs who are more traditional pocket passers who have to be super accurate with their passes and Dak has been money on third down at being accurate with the football and as for Dez when healthy Dez will continue to be Dez on the field.

You can guarantee he looks for Dez early and often Sunday night against the Eagles.

The backup QB he had a 100 yard game with as a rookie was an aging backup who was nearing retirement. At least he scored a TD in that game and made a great 46 yard play instead of several routine catches where we made a concerted effort to get him the ball. Our backup QB this season is our next franchise QB and currently Dez is the most expensive decoy in the league.

You're qualifying these great games as you see fit. First you mentioned the 100 yards as a rookie then we brought up the 100 yard game he had this year and you call it ho hum. Dak didn't throw a td at all until his 3rd game and threw it to *gasp* Dez Bryant. And you cant straight up compare Dez with Julio and Odell when we run way more than they do. We're not a passing offense

Talk about damning a guy with faint praise!

Dez Bryant...70$ million contract...age 27...and hey...he can still be an asset!

Look I'm willing to give the guy a clean slate of sorts. I give him zero excuses moving forward.

Only $45 of that is guaranteed, and he's more than proven that he's worth it. I don't see what the problem is here. Are people *****ing about him being hurt because of fantasy football again or something?

His on-field career has featured innumerable occasions of having to go the locker room for re-hydration...missing large swaths of times for cramps. Some say this is avoidable with proper preparation.

For the first two seasons he often didn't know parts of the playbook. He would go off on mad Beckham-style rants, though that's gotten a lot better in recent years. He's had all manner of legal and ethical issues off the field.

It's been widely reported that if you don't involve him in the game he "loses interest."

He hasn't produced in years and is making a boatload of money.

But yeah....I hear you...what's the problem here?

He's been hurt recently, so that's nonsense about him not producing. Injuries happen. And I could not care less about any sideline antics just because butthurt old media hacks talk about it and Landry era dinos care. His teammates love him. They are not the same at all. His "legal troubles" are years old and were misdemeanors, some of which he wasn't even charged with, so who gives a F? He's a vital piece to this team taking the next step, and I for one am ecstatic that he's back now.

42 receptions
551 yards
4 TDs
Pro-rated out to 16 games that is
56 rcpt
734 yards
6 TD

His 3 year All-Pro stretch from 2012-14
90 rcpt
1300 yds
14 TDs

per game avg for those 2 periods
2012-14.......................2015-2016
5.6 rcpt...........................3.5
81 yds............................45.9
.88 TDs......................... .38

so the difference between elite and unacceptable is
2.1 catches per game
35.1 yards per game
a touchdown every other game

I think Dez can make up those staggering differences with Romo/Dak and a great rushing game

I think Dez can still be a great red zone threat, but he's never been (nor do I think he will ever) be a complete receiver who can dominate games from start to finish. I can't remember very many times that Dez has completely taken over a game...I guess against Philly when he torched Bradley Fletcher and against Jacksonville in 2014.

He has a tendency to disappear during games between the 20s. He isn't Julio, AB, Beckham, AJ Green etc.

Does he 'still' have that frickin pet monkey?
(Sorry gang,I skipped all the pages after reading the first one)
Personally,I wasn't all that big/pulling for him when he held out for his 'payday',, so far my reasons/ju-ju have proved my beliefs.
If he don't 'ball the **** 'out' when he is deemed serviceable for action,,, trade him/bye-bye.

I don't want him to be OBJ. That guy is a head case and will implode some day and then the team is screwed.

The spin job on these stats is disgusting.

Why measure "games have passed" (who does that?) Instead of games played? Why not factor in who his quarterbacks were during those games played? Matt cassel's, Brandon Weedon's and Kellen moore's checkdowns are a huge drop off from Tony Romo.

Statistics without context? You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

So then he's not elite if he needs a top QB throwing him the ball. Did you see A Brown with Landry Jones throwing him the ball? Still got his. Seems to me Dez relied on Romo being good. And we know Romo made Austin and Robinson great WRs.

Dez is injury prone and makes little to no impact when playing far too often.

That was an anomaly....ABrown's TD numbers are way down with Landry at QB

Not worried about Dez one bit.

We have bigger issues.

Now,I recall you being the biggest/hugest/gargantuan fan/torch bearer AND bugler for him when mr# 88 was on hold-out,,, Shirley ,you could kick in a little more input, my brother.(I was cloaked in my Klingon cloaking device/lurker/stalker mode at that time)

(( Although,,it might have been "floaty" ,,, is he o.k.? as I've not been picking up on much of anything he's not been laying down))

Same here, I could careless how many catches he has. Just him being in there will soften the defense and open things up for the run game and every other receiver.

As long as he doesn't drop a TD pass.
everyone just play hard and do their job. Sometimes it will be dez making the big play and next week it could be Beasley

All that does is keep the other teams defense off balance and guessing.

so wait you're acknowledging that dak isn't going to target him as much, and admonishing him for not having a bunch of catches. got it. just want to be clear.

You're not clear but I'll do my best to try and clear things up for you. Dez has only played 3 games with Dak so he's being admonished due to his lack of production starting from the 2014 playoffs through the 2016 season. Dak isn't going to target Dez as much as Romo because he has trouble getting open and Dak has already said he's going to throw to the open receiver. Our 2 best games of the season were without Dez. Dak doesn't need Dez to be an efficient QB. Beasley may end up having more production than Dez from this season on because he gets open and moves the chains.
