That shows just how little you've been following this season. Dez isn't the better receiver right now and I'm sure many on the board will agree with me. Beasley is leading the team in receptions and TD's and no receiver has moved the chains better this season or has been more clutch. You're living in the past with Dez.
lmao. there's a reason Dez is paid like an elite receiver, and a reason Beasley never will be

Because Norman was not covering him on those plays. When Dez lined up vs Breeland Dez was beating him not when Dez lined up across from Norman. Go back and watch the game, hell even the announcers questioned the skins about not having Norman lining up on Dez every play.

You're right, Norman got the best of Dez for all of 2 plays that I saw in the game where the ball came their way. Every other time Norman covered Dez it was either a run or the ball went elsewhere.

I guess Jerry and company were pretty smart after all last season when they extended Cole deal to avoid FA

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys continued to firm up their wide receiver corps on Tuesday as they re-signed Cole Beasley, who had been set to enter restricted free agency.
The contract will keep Beasley in Dallas for the foreseeable future, as it extends him for four more years with a total value of roughly $13.6 million. This comes 24 hours after the Cowboys officially placed the franchise tag on top receiver Dez Bryant.

They should have just kept Dez on the Franchise Tag. They could have done it 2 years in a row. He could not have held out long if at at because he would be out of money. Stephen wanted to play hardball with him but Jerry caved.

The reason Dez got paid like an elite receiver was due to his production his first 5 years. That's what earned him that contract and he's done squat since. Anyone who has a clue knows Beasley has been our best, most reliable receiver this season. He's out produced Dez the past 2 seasons and has scored twice as many TD's as Dez since 2015. He's gotten better every season. He'll never be a game changer or a receiver that will earn an elite receiver contract but he's been the receiver we can least do without this season.

He's moved the chains all year and came up with a critical reception that sealed one of our wins. We've won 3 straight games without Dez and 2 of those games were our most impressive of the season. Beasley had 10 catches with 3 TD's vs Cinn and Green Bay. We've proven we can win and win big without Dez but losing Beasley would take a big bite out of our offense.

They have Tom Brady who can make just about any receiver productive. Try again!

I watched fans boo Meredith, I watched fans boo Aikman a man who helped lead this team to 3 SB's. You bet fans place expectations on players and in the case of Dez he held out for the big money but with that money come greater expectations. Hell Terrance Williams is always catching hell yet he has managed to get himself open without Dez in the lineup he is making plays so why should expectation on Williams be greater than that of a so called elite player? Reputation only takes you so far this is for a lack of a better word what have you don't lately league.
Yessir Dooms they did boo Aikman, and I wasn't even born when Meredith was play QB but most fans in all fan bases can be very unappreciative when it comes to certain players and you can also add Romo to this list as well.

then Dez needs to kick it up a notch because right now Beasley is earning his meager wages and I have not seen Dez do much since he was paid as you say an elite WR.
I agree Beasley is beasting right now and with Dez back in the lineup will make Beasley even more dangerous to opposing defenses than he already is regardless Dez will garner more attention of the Eagles this week we can all guarantee it.

I thought that was the game plan for most teams with star WRs was to move them around to stop them from being taken out of the game by those types of players like Norman that is called good strategy some people think that's a bad thing wow.

The Commanders coaches insisted on sticking with Norman on the short side of the field. So Dallas coaches simply sent Dez many times to the opposite side, where he ended up being covered by Breeland.

I disagree. Players with big play capabilities especially at WR can add another element to an already good offense. I do agree that they are not depending on him to the point they are dead in the water without him but Dez playing his best can make this offense even more potent.

To me that is like saying we don't need a top pass rusher since the defense is keeping teams under 20 points a game.
Dez isnt worth the drama on the sidelines and the injuries on it IMO. I think alot of people are going to be in for a rude awakening when Dez comes back and they expect 60% of the targets going to him. This team has evolved around the concept of team. Instead of a group of players who all want to be the alpha. This team is so much better then even just 2 yrs ago.

Exactly. He had no leverage in the negotiation. I don't know why they caved.

Exactly the Falcons did this with Jones against the Seahawks, where they lined him up in the slot away from Sherman and iirc in the 3rd qrt and torched them for a TD to which Sherman threw a hissy fit on the sidelines as we both know football has evolved and the Deion Sanders days of taking one side of the field away against the team's top WR are over good OCs like Linehan for example, know how to exploit matchup problems for just about every defense the offense face they're not just going to allow any good DB like Norman, Peterson, or Sherman to just take their top WR out of the game plan they're going to move them all over the place and it's up to the opposing DC whether or not that said DB is going to follow them around the formation and WRs like Dez, is not going to feel sorry for getting matched up against Breeland and taking advantage of it if that is how the DC is going to play Norman on the shorter half of the field away from Bryant then that is his problem not Dez, or Linehan that is what you call good coaching.
