I watched fans boo Meredith, I watched fans boo Aikman a man who helped lead this team to 3 SB's. You bet fans place expectations on players and in the case of Dez he held out for the big money but with that money come greater expectations. Hell Terrance Williams is always catching hell yet he has managed to get himself open without Dez in the lineup he is making plays so why should expectation on Williams be greater than that of a so called elite player? Reputation only takes you so far this is for a lack of a better word what have you don't lately league.

It's common to see QBs booed they have such a big impact on games but other positional players don't get booed nearly as much. Don't expect Dez to get booed unless we see some drops in games where we're not playing well. The level of frustration with Dez appears to be mixed on this board, with many making excuses for him. The facts are he hasn't produced much since he signed his contract and although injuries have played a big part it's led to a disappointing season and a half. He still hasn't proved he's the same player he was prior to his foot and ankle surgery. At some point he has to start producing consistently and making some big plays or his fall from elite status is going to be a big topic of discussion everywhere, not just on fan boards.

Would you like to discuss what he did in the opener when he was healthy? His one catch for 8 yards was the lowest production of any receiver for either team in that game and no receiver on the field was being paid as much as Dez.
no point in discussing what he did in week 1, when he performed week 2 and 3

again I don't see fans taking it easy on Terrance Williams who does not bring half the attention to himself as Dez does. I know some must be thinking I some anti Dez fan but reality is I just expect much from him and I do look for him to man up and go get the job done. I watched Irvin do the same bring the attention to himself but Mike backed it up

Why so apprehensive to discuss a performance that helped cost us the opener? He was suppose to be healthy and didn't show up for a game against a division rival on opening day. He was given an opportunity to make a great play for a TD and he did all the hard parts by going up and catching the ball but like in Green Bay in the playoffs in 2014 he allowed the ball to come loose when he hit the ground. We ended up having to settle for a FG and lost the game by one point.

Even Garrett sounded a little frustrated at his Monday presser saying Dez knows the rule and you have to hang onto the ball and not allow it to come loose when hitting the ground. In the 3 games he's played this season he was our leading receiver in only one of those games. Although he led the team in receiving vs Washington, Swaim, Beasley and Witten all had longer receptions.

and vs Washington when in one on one with Josh Norman, Norman was getting the better of him. I don't say that happily. Dez did make some plays vs the weaker CB not the #1 guy

yawn...if you want to blame that entire game on that one play, fine. I wont entertain that discussion though, its silly. the nitpicking is beyond annoying, Gronk had a 1 reception game, Odell had a 3 catch game, yet you dont see their fanbases still lingering on them.

I can't understand all the Twill hate, he was a 3rd round pick who's made some huge plays at critical moments and isn't going to be targeted near as much as Dez. It's the disappearing acts for games at a time that bug some, along with the body catching. Irvin did a lot of body catching. Twill has become whipping boy for some.

I'm not blaming the entire game on that one play but he only made one catch all day for a measly 8 yards. If he makes that TD catch it would have been the difference and we're not having this discussion even if he only made 2 catches all day. Gronk and OBJ's games haven't fallen off the past couple of years so not one is going to make an issue about them having an off game.

Every great receiver is going to have an off game once in a while but it's become a common occurrence for Dez since the 2014 regular season. Be honest if we had to do without one receiver for the rest of this season who would you pick Dez or Beasley?

As you mentioned Dez has had some disappearing acts himself.

That's a good point Norman was getting the better of him when he was on Dez. Washington got criticized for not having him on Dez the entire game. Dez isn't as feared as he was.

Some are living in the past with Dez, like they do with Romo. I've lost track of how many have brought up the 2014 season when debating both players.

Dez is a better player than Beasley, so Dez..no brainer

Maybe because both were hurt last season? It isn't difficult. People whining about either one are ignoring a ton of context. Injuries happen everywhere in the NFL, so people should quit their crying about it.

reason being about 2014 it was the last season both where for the most part fully healthy. I actually am not writing off either guy at this point but I will not make excuses. When of if Romo returns I expect a lot out of him and same with Dez.

That shows just how little you've been following this season. Dez isn't the better receiver right now and I'm sure many on the board will agree with me. Beasley is leading the team in receptions and TD's and no receiver has moved the chains better this season or has been more clutch. You're living in the past with Dez.

The Romo from 2014 isn't coming back he's missed 18 games, has had a couple of broken collarbones and a broken back. He's aged 2 years so it makes no sense bringing up the player he was in 2014. Since 2014 Dez has had foot and ankle surgery and has been battling injuries since. His best days may already be behind him. You have to live in the "now" not the past with both players.

Hush now or you'll ignite his straw. If you do that he's liable to put you on his list of people that have bested him. Then he'll tattle. (You're new here but he will actually do these things)

Er, what? Norman got the better of a guy that caught 7 passes for 107 yards? How do you figure that?

The last time Dez played an entire game with Dak at QB, he had 7 catches for 107 yards. In limited action vs the Bears due to getting hurt so early, he caught 3 passes for 30 yards and a TD. Had he played the full game, at the pace he was going he would have surpassed 100 yards easily.

Instead of the constant drivel about "Boy I sure hope that overrated slacker shows up!" how about "Boy I sure hope Dak and Dez start right where they left off!"

Because Norman was not covering him on those plays. When Dez lined up vs Breeland Dez was beating him not when Dez lined up across from Norman. Go back and watch the game, hell even the announcers questioned the skins about not having Norman lining up on Dez every play.
