You have had 20+ years since this team has made a trip to the Superbowl.
All of those years trying to install a winning culture with different coaches, different styles of defense, different styles of how to approach the Draft and the FA.
ALL trying to install a winning culture.
And along comes WaldoPutty...the lone genius of the sports world on a message board who wants to install a losing culture to gain a better draft pick for a team that is trying to install a winning culture.
And his only genius rebuttal is fire the coaches after you get a better draft pick.
Hey...let's start yet again from scratch with a new offensive system with players that don't fit it or a new defensive system that does not fit the players.
Hey let's finally get rid of the players that Fat Ryan wanted for his Defense to work and finally get some Secondary players that the next coach wanted all along but could not get because of cap issues...then let's get rid of that current coach to get another coach who probably wants a completely different type of secondary to work with his system and so on.
Yes...YES it is brilliant I tell you...Let's tank it all..>Let's go for broke. Let's get a high draft pick and then turn around and change the coaches and the systems and the type of players we need for the new systems even though they are best fit for the old system and ....wait wait wait...nope, can't do it. Just can't bring myself to this crazy level of delusional thought that tanking the season, not just now but thinking about it prior to the season has even started is a good plan.
This is some silly troll turds floating in a commode of internet life.
Flush
if i could only claim to be the lone genius...
this has been practiced in the NBA to get the best players.
done so much to the point that the rules to the NBA draft had to be changed.
and even done in the MLB where the benefits are much less than the NFL.
yes tanking goes against the old school approach.
so it bothers some people who cannot change with the times.
when tanking was discussed prior to the season, it was in the overall framework of:
1. go crazy in FA and win for a few years.
2. when and if the cap blows up, then tank that year (or 2) and reload on high draft picks.
again it is not for the old school thought.
note that New England, who many think is perfect, sort of did this in 2016 by trading chandler jones and the probowl LB. of course they won inspite of their defense because of their superior coaching staff and brady.
