Posters say we're a 5-11 team at best with TO?

Really?

We were a 9-7 team without TO.

The Eagles are a 10-6 team without TO.

We were a 3-3 with TO and without Romo as a starter.

We are a 6-4 team with Romo.

TO really didn't contribute that much in the Eagles game in Philly (so we'd would have lost that one without TO anyway). He had minimal impact (5-88 and no TDs) in the Titans game (do you honestly believe we wouldn't have won that game without TO, particularly when our defense was playing hot at the time and was facing a green/young Young?) He had minimal impact on the Skins game in Dallas (3-45 and a TD drop) so exactly where does one get off saying that the Cowboys would only have won 5 games with TO?

Is this merely opinion masquerading as fact or do you have something to back it up?

Thank you very much.

Hold him accountable for actual drops, that's fine, ... but only actual drops, and not like you say, fluffed up drops.

Someone on this thread has it out to "almost 20 now".:laugh2:

The Cowboys had TO scored at 19 drops before the Detroit game. That's not an official NFL stat, but their own stat if you will.

(BTW it was mentioned by Spagnola on one of last weeks radio shows.)

Correction: The Eagles are a 10-6 WITHOUT McNabb. Think about it

Assuming I bought your argument, they're also winning with scrub receivers for the most part.

Which means if you get someone in who can play quarterback, a team (the Eagles and the Cowboys) can succeed even if it doesn't have TO at WR.

Yes, think about it, indeed. ;)

Actually what I was talking about was... Garcia knows how to lead the team... he knows that system better than McNabb... I thought about it.....Garcia had great success with TO... anything else? LOL

If someone asked you before this season if you'd take TO's 13 TDs on the condition that he had 20 drops, I would have gladly taken it - and the rest of you would have to.

McNabb has been officially exposed this year.

But TO isn't playing with Garcia now.

Garcia is throwing to Stallworth, Lewis, Baskett and some other no-names.

So you're basically saying it's the QUARTERBACK and not the receiver.

Thank you for backing into an agreement with me. ;) :D

No, it's not McNabb being exposed as it is the Eagles coaching staff finally wising up and running the ball as opposed to funneling the offense through McNabb.

This has been a complaint of Eagles fans for a long while.

And I fear that the same thing will happen to Peyton Manning, who is a great quarterback.

Until that team funnels the offense through a strong running game and rely less on Peyton Manning, sure he's going to put up the big numbers, but defense coordinators can scheme against a quarterback better than they can a running back. And that's because a running back becomes unpredictable once you get him past the line of scrimmage. A quarterback operates more off tendencies, and it's easier to predict a quarterback's tendencies than it is a running back's tendencies.

Ummm no... I recall in 3 straight NFC championships and a Super Bowl the Eagles coaching staff and front office put their team in a position to win a super bowl. #5 just happened to throw the ball to the other team, every single time... The final Eagles offensive drive in all four big games, were ended by a McNabb interception.

Love him or hate him, there's a reason we are in the playoffs and it's not Tony Romo or Bill Parcells...

TO has been the most consistent player on this offense and has made plays no other receiver would have been able to. He started off somewhat slow with Bledsoe during his hand injury, and has made the most of Romo's limited passing abilities to quietly have 13 TD's and almost 1200 yards...pretty solid numbers.

Despite the man's larger than life ego and off field antics, he delivered. And without him we would not be a playoff team or even a .500 team for that matter. His season is even more impressive when you consider there was a snitch trying to undermine his star power all season (My guess is it was Terry Glenn).

The only gripe I have with TO is that he didn't stand up and support Bledsoe when he should have and should have. Obviously his numbers could have been real good if Bledsoe played the whole season and could have got the ball downfield to him.

I'm looking forward to seeing what TO will do next year with a real coaching staff that knows how to acclimate him into the game early and often. Also if Romo isn't the answer than we can bring in a strong armed QB that can get the ball downfield and then nobody will stop us!

Only way he'd be MVP of this team is if he throws us on his back and carries us through the playoffs with multiple 100+ yard 2 TD games.

It'll be tough to do that when our season will be over before I go to church Sunday morning.

Last year we were 9-7.

This year we are 9-7.

The difference is the NFC is even worse than it was last season.

Last year our top 3 receivers combined for 199 catches, 2786 yards and 19 TDs...we threw 500 passes and had 67 throws to our backs.

This year the top 3 combined for 219 catches, 2981 yards, and 20 TDs...we threw 506 times and had 36 throws to our backs.

Yep, TO was a huge difference maker.

There is no MVP on our team, we are entirely too inconsistent across the board for that. However I don't see where we would be right now without Ware/Newman/Romo. If a poll was put up I bet the majority of the zoners would go with Ware.

No he isn't. He was good, but Barber and Romo were every bit as important on offense and Tony Romo sparked this team to what it accomplished this year. He had 1st year jitters to end the season, but still played amazing.

My vote would go to Romo easily.

Ware on defense.

On the flip side, I don't think Romo has 1/2 of the success that he's had without TO. I think TO is hands down the MVP of this years' team. Although it pains me to no end to say it.
