In Ted Wells' speak....."it is more probable than not", it gets cut in half Actually I hope the Cowboys get to play Brady and his deflated footballs.

If Brady is defiant, I don't understand how the league can reduce the suspension. The NFL clearly states he is being punished in large part for being uncooperative along with the act of deflating the balls.

Each appeals process is its own case. It's not a given a punishment will be reduced "just because ". If Brady appeals, admits fault and turns over his phone records, THEN I can see the league reducing the punishment.

So in other words, cheating pays off? They won a Super Bowl. Brady gets a slap on the wrist that will probably be reduced to a few games. Lulz. This league is a joke.

Oh, and it just so happens everything happens a week after the draft so they have time to prepare. And not have any picks taken this year.

AFC East is so bad they can still win it even with this.

That's a lot more severe than I figured it would be. I basically expected fine and maybe a late draft pick.

The point isn't that it was "only deflating balls."

The point is that they cheated. Cheaters are supposed to be disqualified. We learn that from an early age. Makes me sick that these twice over cheaters have won 4 Super Bowls. Their win against the Colts should be taken away, plain and simple. It won't ever happen, but that's what should happen. I don't care how much they won by.

So to me, a 4 game suspension and losing a 1st rounder and 4th rounder is a slap on the wrist.

If I could just cheat the rules but win a Super Bowl, I'll give up my 1st rounder every season.

It doesn't have a lot to do with football though. Cheating and steroids actually effect the game.

It actually hasn't been established that deflating the ball affects the game. Hasn't been established that the difference between 12.5 and 11 psi is meaningful.

It has been established that if you beat women, that you are a POS though.

Patriots would still find a way to cheat out of their way in this punishment

But it will be. Conveniently. No way the WWENFL avoids that kind of ratings windfall.
I'd guess the draft pick is reduced, not the suspension. Four games does not sound excessive. Maybe a bit more than people were expecting, but the 1st round pick wasn't even on people's radars I don't think.

That said, these guys are repeat cheaters, so Goodell has a good argument that a message needs to be sent.
