Every big play Pollard has people downplay it and say it was bad defense or that the blocking was better than what Zeke got. Zeke isn't making those plays anymore. Plays like his rookie where he splits the safeties and breaks away for a long td aren't gonna happen anymore. Now instead he run into the safety and maybe get another five yards. Which doesn't mean he is horrible but it does mean he isn't worth his contract. If he isn't willing to give some money back there is an argument for cutting him.

I scrolled through this threat looking for all the posts about Pollard before he had the nice run in the 4th quarter. Whycome nobody was squawking about him when he was averaging 2 yards per carry? We saw today what we have always seen with Pollard. Nothing for a lot of carries in a row and then boom! A big one. Then we can get all giddy over the one big play while ignore the 10 nothing plays. He did just enough on the ground to keep them honest but aside from the one big run dude was doing next to nothing.. His best plays had been as a receiver by far up to that point. I know people will want to proclaim today's performance some revelation.. but truth be told the defense won this game for us. And it has been a good long while since we could say that. Though I guess they could be credited with winning last week for us too. But this week they were needed because it was a lot better team we were facing. Cincy was never going to put up 30 points on us.. The 49ers, with that running game was a horse of a different color. The turnovers the defense forced were NEEDED in this one.. Without them we lose .. badly..

When was Zeke's last big run? Let's look at Zeke's burst ability in terms of longest run by season:

2016: 60 yards
2017: 30 yards
2018: 41 yards
2019: 33 yards
2020: 26 yards

The point people are making as Zeke no longer has the home run big play ability he once had. The tread on his tires are thinning out and this is why giving him a contract extension 2 years earlier than needed was a big mistake for this team.

69 rushing yards divided by 12 carries equals 5.88 yards per carry. Go figure.

But you do acknowledge that based on your standards and Pollards numbers in last nights game that means zeke has had a full season of below average games and he’s the one that demands respect, is over hyped and is being paid as the second highest RB in the league.

Pollard averaged over more than 1 ypc than zekes best game all season and it was against a top 10 run defense.

11-29 1td need the math 2.9 ypc

ONE(1) nice 4th qtr run full of bad tackling ill take it =40 he saved his sat line on his final run..so 2.9 for nearly the entire game became what appears to be very solid game on his final run..

the rest were bad all game so for the game as runner hes was not good at all.not blaming him like you all blame zeke the OL can NOT run block and KM can not call runs for a true tail back..hes using our running backs like Full backs and its pathetic really..

you hear Pollards post game comment he accidentally had Freudian slip on Moores play calling being the 'usual " runs up the gut..lmao..go find it ..

the OL and the OC are far better in the pass game then the run game

Believe it or not, while most consider run blocking the easier of the two it takes a bit to gel and we've had SO many changes at O line it's pretty hard to expect them to be very good.

Pollards a nice complimentary back and come on we saw bad tackling on that 40yarder , i like Pollard and will give him credit for that but in no way did he do anything that showed up zeke yesterday..teh OL was bad for all RBS for 50mins yesterday Dowldle and pollard had no room to run both under 3YPC ALL GAME..

expecting zeke to do much better is redicuus i mean NO HOLES

pollard accidentally said to reporters after the game he was surprised his last run went so far after all day running up the gut for no yards most of the game.. Freudian slip , KM uses his RBs like FBS its obvious like vanilla as it can get run game..has to be fixed..you have to help your OL and your tailbacks..
