He did look like Houdini escaping, but that pass was a duck and it a totally lucky catch by Tyree.
Good luck getting off a tight spiral and setting yourself to throw after escaping a log jam of defenders. Duck or not that pass was right on the money. Great catch by Tyree but the play all started with Eli’s great escape. Had he gotten sacked that game would have been pretty much over.

Too bad he never pulled off a play like that when it mattered most. He made a lot of great plays but not when it was all on the line. Not about to get into a long Romo argument with anyone, so don’t bother.
Classic post.

He's a complete joke. At this point I'm thinking he's just trolling or in a mental decline. He recently argued it's tougher to play QB now than it was decades ago.

Dude is off his rocker.

Where did I say I wasn’t willing to debate or defend my position? You might want to work on your comprehension skills.

If he had gotten the defense like Eli got which lead him to 2 SBs , incidentally beating tom brady, Romo could have won one. Jerry always like flashy players and never the ugly big ones who man the trenches , atleastOL they are paying attention , but if they can do that to DL also , we couldfinally get there.
My favorite stat is that Eli never needed to score more than 21 points in either Super Bowl run.

Not saying Eli didn’t do his part, but that was probably the difference between the franchises

I don't know, genius, it might have to do with the fact that it's a team game and this isn't golf.

Somehow your posts have gotten worse. That's a real feat because they were pretty terrible to begin with. You hold onto that, it's impressive.
He said he did not want to get into "that", yet here we are. KJJ needs the final say, no matter what! Don't you get that? lmao

Remember when he made Crayton drop that wide open pass against the Giants, or quit on his route on 4th down in the same game? Damn Romo:mad:
That’s football but those two plays weren’t the reason Romo only completed 50% of his passes after completing almost 65% during the regular season. Those plays weren’t the reason he finished with a passer rating of 64.7. In the closing minutes the Cowboys started their final drive at the Giants 48 yard line with 1:50 left and reached the Giants 23 yard line. Romo threw a couple of incompletions then was picked off in the endzone which ended our chances. Had Dak had the game Romo did and it ended with an INT in the endzone he would have been TRASHED by fans like you but you Romo apologists continue to make excuses for him.

He lit the Giants up during the regular season with 8 TDs and had passer ratings of well over 100.0 but when it mattered most in the playoffs Mr. Cabo laid an egg with the rest of the team. It certainly wasn’t all his fault. Our defense could never make critical stops which has been the theme for our defense for more than 2 decades in the playoffs. We’ve had a lot of the same problems with Romo and the defense in the playoffs that we’ve had with Dak and our defense which is the main reason their playoff records are similar.

Glad this thread was derailed from talking about a memorable positive play to comparing careers/postseason success.

Y'all are something else at times.

Signature play of Tony's career. If he were ever inducted into the HOF (he won't be) this would be the play they showed before he got up to speak. And maybe the Atlanta defense jailbreak play just for good measure.

He played awful in most of them. He was DREADFUL against Philly in 08 and Washington in 2012. Both games had a playoff spot on the line. He had 6 turnovers in those games. In our playoff losses he had 2 INTs and 8 fumbles. He stunk against Minnesota but so did our defense. You might want to take off your blinders. I will agree the teams weren’t good enough which contributed greatly to his struggles.
He was bad against Philly. I never said he was perfect.

But multiple times Romo carried Dallas in his back to big wins and playoff appearances. Many, many times.

Never has Dak done that. He's just along for the ride. He gets carried by the team.

You claimed he played well in most of them. He didn’t play well against Seattle in 06. He only had 189 yards with a TD. He completed less than 60% of his passes with a passer rating of 89.6. His bobbled hold helped cost us that game. He didn’t play well against the Giants in the 07 playoffs. He was awful against Minnesota in the 09 playoffs. He had an INT and 2 lost fumbles. He was horrible against Washington in the season finale in 2012 that had the NFC East on the line. He had 3 INTs.

How is that playing well in most of them? The only do or die games he played well in was against Philly in 09. The Giants in the season finale in 2011 that had the NFC East on the line, which we lost and against the Lions and Packers in 2014. In the 8 do or die games he played in he played well in 4 of them. He carried us to some wins in lesser games. Dak has also carried us to some wins but neither Dak or Romo carried us to a critical win with our season on the line.

Romo was fun to watch even if he threw 4 ints.
Dak is like watching paint dry most times.
Only a true Romo lover would say it was fun watching Romo even if he threw 4 INTs. LOL When he had games like that the Cowboys usually got destroyed. I didn’t see anyone talking about how much fun it was to watch Romo after games like that. He only had one game like that where we actually won and that was against Buffalo in 2007. We had a great team for at least most of that season and were able to overcome Romo’s 5 INTs against a bad Buffalo team.

Spot on. How many times did the defense not do their part? And we all know that even if the catch in Green Bay counted, the defense was gonna give the game up like usual.
It’s been the same thing with the defense with Dak. He put up over 400 yards on the road against a stiff Tampa defense in 2021 and our defense folded with the game on the line. That was one of the best games he ever played. Two of his best performances were against Tom Brady on the road.

Funny but Eli pulled off an even greater escape that won the SB against a 17-0 Pats team but the majority of this fan base discredits him for the play giving all the credit to Tyree. Had Romo pulled off that play this fan base would have hailed him as the greatest QB ever. Lol Not a single fan would have discredited him and that’s a FACT! Eli has been discredited in both great plays he made with the SB on the line. Everyone here gives Manningham the credit for the play 3 years later in the SB. While Eli is called lucky. Lol Not one fan here would have called Romo lucky. I get there’s a bias here but some of you need to get real.

Everyone knows this fan base is loaded with Romo apologists and it’s a fact! When he had bad games some put the blame on everyone but him. If he had a couple fumbles, it was the OL’s fault, not him. If he had 3 INTs it was the receivers fault, not him. I wish I could find the posts, but some of you know I’m telling it straight. :thumbup:In 2016 despite Dak’s great play there were fans who would have rather lost with Romo than win with Dak and I’m convinced of it. Had we won the SB with Dak that season the Romo crowd would have been disappointed. There were fans that were a bigger fan of him than the team.

Wow, sounds just like the excuses that the Dak lovers come up with. Good job, KJJ.

He’s in the heads of fans like you who keep living in the past with him and continue defending him, while bashing Dak. Thanks for letting me know the truth ruffled your feathers. I’m not the one who keeps starting these threads glorifying Romo in games that didn’t have a big impact on our season.
