your mirror is very underpaidIf you want to listen to idiots go ahead.![]()
Yeah I wasn't insinuating that he was undeserving -- in fact, I mentioned that he did his part. However, he had to bring his team from behind in both SB’s in the closing minutes. This is why he was the MVP in both games.
No, because Romo has the stats to back up his play. Eli not so much. Romo at one point has the 4th best passer rating of all time. Eli was always at 40+. Plus Romo was making crazy plays all through his career. Eli didn’t and that’s why it was luck!Would you have said the same thing had Romo made that play?
Eli deserves a lot of credit, too though. He held that team back in the regular season, but dude showed up in the playoffs. The Giants defense in both playoff runs is what won those games. Keeping Brady in check both times.
Dude, no need to make this personal. Stick to the topic or I’ll never waste another post on you.your mirror is very underpaid
I wish we had the defenses the Giants have had.Yeah I wasn't insinuating that he was undeserving -- in fact, I mentioned that he did his part.
I was merely expressing that the defense and team building philosophy was something the Cowboys missed on.
The problem was Romo’s regular season stats/passer ratings never extended to the playoffs. Go look at his playoff numbers. Eli showed up in the playoffs and his turnovers disappeared. No, because Romo has the stats to back up his play. Eli not so much. Romo at one point has the 4th best passer rating of all time. Just because Eli wasn’t known for his mobility and never made Houdini escapes doesn’t take away from the amazing escape he made in the SB to win that game. He did something he wasn’t known for doing, when it mattered the most. All Romo ever did was make great escapes but when it mattered most in the playoffs he never made any that won us a game. His great escapes all came during the regular season and none of them helped lead us to a championship.A certain rabid Romo Hater claims Eli made a greater escape. Since he had no history of doing such before, kind of dumb.
It always happens in these Romo threads. Give an opposing opinion about Romo and some can’t help themselves from tossing insults and making it personal. Posters have been repeatedly warned about it but they continue to do it. I’m going to give my opinion on Romo regardless how many get bothered by it.Wow this seemingly innocent thread really bothered a few people.
Don’t disagree but the Giants defense also showed up in the playoffs in a big way too. The regular season they didn’t. Thats the Giants fans argument for Eli. Statistically the Giants defense were no good in the regular season. Just like Eli.The problem was Romo’s regular season stats/passer ratings never extended to the playoffs. You wouldn’t be saying that had it been Romo. Eli’s career was made in the playoffs and SB. He wasn’t mediocre in postseason which is why he has a couple of rings and a couple of SB MVPs. He’s currently 10th on the all-time passing list and will be in the HOF.He was lucky. He’s the most mediocre QB. He wasn’t the best QB in the NFC East either.
Agree!Don’t disagree but the Giants defense also showed up in the playoffs in a big way too.
I wouldn’t say Eli had a great arm but he was able to maintain his poise in the critical games, which he struggled with during the regular season. That led to a lot of INTs. He was AWFUL for a stretch of games in 2007. He had 4 INTs against Minnesota which led to a blowout loss. He had 20 INTs that season. He was looking like a bust, but miraculously found his game by the playoffs. His great defense kept him from having to carry them. When he had to make critical throws he made them. He only had one INT in the playoffs that season.Eli was a very smart QB with a great arm ........ he gets unjustified hate ...... just like past and present Cowboys QB's
Unfortunately in the HOF. I believe he’s .500 for wins and losses. You wouldn’t be saying that had it been Romo. Eli’s career was made in the playoffs and SB. He wasn’t mediocre in postseason which is why he has a couple of rings and a couple of SB MVPs. He’s currently 10th on the all-time passing list and will be in the HOF.
I would say that Giants defense was pretty historic. It held 2 great offenses to 20 points or less with Dallas and Green Bay and then kept one of the most dynamic offenses we've seen in NFL history to under 20 points. Their 2011 defense was almost as good.Don’t disagree but the Giants defense also showed up in the playoffs in a big way too. The regular season they didn’t. Thats the Giants fans argument for Eli. Statistically the Giants defense were no good in the regular season. Just like Eli.
It’s a lot easy to play ball when the defense does its part……
