That's what makes last years playoff loss all the more painful.

That may have been Romo's one and only chance at a ring and it was a Murray fumble, poor coaching at the end of the half, and a blown call that ruined it.

That was it

tony romo looks like he has no more football in him

he's better than ever as a qb, but his body is at the end.

Tony Romo played nearly 14 quarters this year, the Cowboys scored 5 offensive touchdowns during that time. He threw 5 tds and 7 picks.

This team isn't close, and frankly I wonder how close he is to the end. Those numbers are extremely poor. Listen, I love the guy, but if they don't look for s successor at the top of the draft it's completely asinine.

If he retires, what's the cap hit? That contract is looking like the piece of insanity that it always has been. I figure he'll come back next year, even if he can't play for long.

That's sort of like Peyton Manning stats and everyone thinks he's done.

Maybe I am just be jumpy so quick after a loss, but I feel we need to look for future if available in this draft.

Romo has some real injuries and previous injuries that won't allow for him to get the usual slams into the turf that all QBs always get.

I think we may fall into the same trap we did at the end of the 90s if we try and hold on to hope that he defies nature despite his abilities

With Romo at age 35 and turning 36 before next season, how many more seasons is realistic for him to play? He theoretically has the Oline in place now and for several years to protect him. His skill and level of play still look to be sharp.

Brady is 38 and looks as good as ever. Everyone knows him saying he's got 10 more years that he doesn't believe it either.

Payton at 39, it looks like he's possibly turned a corner.

It's safe to say they've all taken beatings throughout their careers so what's realistic......3, 4 or 5 years?

for me it doesn't come down to how many years he has left but how many games he will play in. You can't consistently win in this league when starting QB misses huge chunks of playing time when he gets injured. How many more times will Dallas be drafting in top 5? This might be Dallas best window to address this glaring issue.

Even if Romo wouldn't have reinjured his collarbone, this thread would be out in full force. He had a terrible game tonight as the INT's that were thrown were done into into double-coverage or poor reads. Call it rust or whatever, but at 16 games a season, football isn't as forgiving as baseball or basketball where you have 5x - 10x the amount of games.

Broken ribs, broken collarbone, broken back... he's missed as many games the past few seasons as he's played. Add in subpar coaching and subpar play and you get a formula that won't raise a Lombardi. I wish that weren't the case, but the writing is on the wall.

Call it a renovation, not a rebuild. We have the right OL in piece and some playmakers, but this generation of Cowboys players in their 30's have witnessed the dying of the light. It's time to re-tool the coaching staff, bring in a stud QB and RB and pray that someone can make something out of our defense.

I think he is done.I don't think he ever got over the back surgery.Having a bad back myself that must take incredible fortitude and some pain shoats every week. The torques it takes to throw a foot ball all lower back, he looks old out there to me everytime he got hit.
