Dak runs the ball, on average, 4 times a game for under 4 yards per carry. His deficiency in the red zone (and actually all over the field) vs. a healthy Romo is not overcome by 14 yards per game on average.
IF Romo is not the same QB as 2014. Ok fine. We deserve it to this offense to find out given how much better a passer Tony is vs. Dak.
You're one of those who's still stuck in 2014 with Romo. That Romo has aged 2 years, has had two different back injuries, a couple of broken collarbones and has played in only 2 full regular season games since that season. He's missed 18 games since 2014. Dak has scored 4 rushing TD's which is something you don't get with Romo. We had redzone issues with Romo where have you been? Our offense ranks higher now than it did in 2014. It can be argued that Dak has looked as good as Romo during his first 7 games in 2014 if not better. Dak has thrown 5 TD's the past two games so the TD passes are coming. He won 3 straight games against solid opponents without Dez on the field, something Romo never had to deal with in 2014.
Romo's TD to turnover ratio in 2014 after the first 7 games was 14-6 and Dak's is 13-3. The QB sneak Dak converted in OT is a play we wouldn't have run with Romo. Dak has added a dimension to our offense we didn't have with Romo. Some of you can't wait to bench him just to go back to where we've been with Romo. If you were a Pats fan back in 2001 you would have been screaming to go back to Bledsoe. Romo may be a better passer but he turns the ball over and his game can come apart at any given moment. He would have never survived against Philly's pass rush. He would have taken 6-7 sacks and probably had at least 2 turnovers. The play he was injured on in preseason, Dak runs away and makes a play.
