I'm guessing Cincy or Green Bay will be the return game. That would be over 6 weeks after the injury if it is game 5 against Cincy or over 7 weeks after the injury if it is Game 6 against Green Bay.

I'm thinking he is back early October. He'll miss 3 games IMO.

How many times have we pinned our hopes on Tony Romo and his health?

Sorry, but I'm not falling for that again. He'll be ready when he's ready. But if he or the Cowboys try to rush him back, expect him to get hurt again.

Fair enough, just from an eye test... And im not sure if some saw it the same way as I did. But this preseason, In Dak I saw a QB full of energy, durable, willing and able to take a hit, can take off and make things happen on the ground...

In Romo, I saw old and frail and unable to get down a proper slide. After injury, it is not going to pretty for him in my honest opinion. He has experience, can definitely draw from what doesn't work in key situations, and also does have respect of many fans and teammates. Dak has a LOT of that too along with the other things I mentioned.

In terms of playoffs, if we make it there, let's ride with Dak... It would be nearly impossible to do any worse. He COULD do much better too.
Oh, we've seen worse.......much, much worse. And recently too.

Up front question here...do you give up on a soldier that has been shot on mutiple occasions?

What do you mean you're not falling for it? That's been the reality around here.

Until I see Garrett not absolutely suck without Romo then I'm pinning my hopes on him.

I think most of us saw the same thing in Dak.

Let's see how it unfolds this year before making our final judgements . NFL can be a very humbling league.

What I mean is when he returns before he's supposed to, I'm not going to jump up and down "internally" and say, "We're back on track". I think he rushed himself back into serve last year, and he/we paid the price for it by him reinjuring himself.

If he comes back, fine. But I'm not going to expect the season to be saved or even salvaged.

I'd argue Garrett has already shown us that beginning in 2010 and how he won me over initially. There have been several examples along the way like after the Brent situation where he held the team together winning 3 straight to keep us in divisional race.

Problem is we still have suked without Romo. But it looked to me like the team never quit last year competiting in most games we werent totally outmatched in talent.

The smart thing to do would be to IR him. Takes the coach's out of the equation. i.e. putting him back out there to soon. The week after our bye is the time for Romo.
This guy has give this team everything over his career, we would have been so much worse off without him. I do not get all the vitriol directed at him from fans of ours and everybody else.
My respect for him go's up every year, and it is a shame that his body is starting to break down - but this front office has relied on him for years to mask this team. Now, let the guy heal properly - stop rushing him back.

I give a coach no credit for having the team not quitting and competing. We're the Dallas Cowboys.

Also, the NFL margin of victory is low. Games aren't decided by a lot. So being in a game regardless of how bad you are is standard in parity football.

That's why most NFL coaches are fired like Wade. Cause the team quits on them .
