IMPORTANT!

If your favorite movie villain is a character who has been portrayed by different actors in different movies, please specify the movie your nominee played in. For example:

Nominee: The Joker

Batman (1989) - Jack Nicholson

The Dark Knight (2008) - Heath Ledger

Suicide Squad (2016) - Jared Leto

Thanos was portrayed by an actor. There's just a lot of CGI added to him.
Can't compare that and Gollum to live actors that only have their acting skills to rely on to transfer loathing to the audience.

There are actors that have created careers off that one ability, Jack Palance as Cherry Wilson, Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber, Rutger Hauer as Wulfgar in Nighthawks. Actors that really showed some panache and so effective was Jack Palance that he couldn't go out to bars and restaurants without people wanting to fight him and he's a 6'5" menacing looking guy.

Thanos, Vader, Gollum belong in a different competition.

It isn't "Best Actor to Play a Villain" though. It's simply "Best Villain".

i actually started an Best Movie Villain list thread here awhile back.
Maybe some entry lists and opinions have changed (see above link)

and i am one of those that agree Jaws should not viewed or confused with being a "villain" movie.

Sharks, Alligators ,The Birds, Spiders, Pirahnas, Bats, beavers, Wolves, Rats, octopus, Grizzlies, killer whales, Bees, etc.

- Any thing listed under Animals, Mammals, Insects, Plants, ...those are Creature- Feature sub genere movies.

:p

I already have movie franchises on the table. Another idea is similar movie match-ups. For examples.....Armageddon vs Deep Impact and White House Down vs Olympus Has Fallen, etc etc. I am not sure how to seed after the first round though as it will turn into just a movie vs another but I love the idea.

We could do best movie monsters/creatures.

Songs by decades.

Favorite vehicles.

I do not like four brackets separated by genres/decades/whatever. I think it should be 1 vs 32, 2 vs 31 all the way to 16 vs 16. That way we could get true results and upsets.

i think Monster ...and Creature -feature has to be distinctively separated so they cannot be confused together .

Monsters: can be seen anywhere from Aliens, Predators, Starship Troopers (extraterrestrial), ....to Zombies, vampires, werewolves, Demons, Ghosts, (supernatural) ...And what sub genre do we call and classify creatures such as " Godzilla " ? Supernatural or extraterrestrial ?

Frankly if we are gonna do the Monster/Creature it may have to be sub-genre down as such. That would really be stretching as there are countless in this type of subgenre but the challenges of comparisons and matchups will be so favorable and

Monster - Extraterrestrial Aliens vs Predator

Monster- Biohazard
Dawn of the Dead vs Resident Evil
Shaun of the Dead vs Zombieland
World War Z vs 28 Days Later

Monster - Supernatural

Werewolves:
American Werewolf in London vs Dog Soldiers

Vampire/Werewolf combo: Twilight Eclipse vs Underworld

Vampire:
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter vs 30 Days of Night
Interview with a Vampire vs From Dusk Til Dawn
Queen of the Damned vs John Carpenter's vampires

Monster - Creatures -
Sharks: Jaws vs Deep Blue Sea
Spiders: Arachniphobia vs Eight Legged Freaks
Lake Placid vs Anaconda

Monster- Demons:
the Exorcist vs the Conjuring
Evil Dead vs the Amityville Horror
Nightmare on Elm Street vs Friday the 13th
Jeepers Creepers vs It

Monster- Ghost
Poltergeist vs Sixth Sense
Paranormal Activity vs Insidious
