Just throwing this out into the universe. Hear me out Jerry.

Dolphins are a team ready to win now.

Dallas is a team trending down. No defense.. Oline fading (what actually made us good with Dak and Zeke).

Is Tua a risk? Sure.. He's struggled a bit. But he's a rookie coming off a major injury that it looks like he will fully recover from.

I think the bigger risk here is signing Dak to a number that never allows us to fill all of the holes this football team has and keeping us mediocre.

This move makes sense for both teams.. We get a young talent with a lot of upside to be a potential Steve Young / Russell Wilson that will give us financial flexibility over the next 4 years that Dak just won't give us.

Is Tua a gamble? Sure.. He may never be as good as Dak.. But i'm watching a guy like Baker Mayfield have success even though he isn't that special of a player because the Browns have put a lot of things around him that Dak had early on his career.

But I think this year showed us that having and not having Dak doesn't make much of a difference in terms of team results and unless you have an elite QB then you better focus on team building and not over paying 1 guy.

Also, please do not tell me we just need a defense. In 2019 we saw plenty of games where the defense stepped up, including the Philly game late in the season, and we could only get 9 points.

We need to start beating good football teams. If our goal is to have fancy stats while only beating bad teams than we can stay on our status quo path.
I hate Tua. I never liked him. he will fail and be a very average QB in the NFL....he reminds me of Mariotta........he is the second coming of Mariotta...

why would the Dolphins even consider this? They’re playoff bound w/ Fitz. They traded away all their assets for picks and cap space. Coupled with the fact that I think they’re a mirage.

That’s before getting to the reasons Dallas likely wouldn’t.

Because Dolphins are ready to win now.

Tua is showing that having 4 top 15 picks at WR on one team really helps a QB

Because all of these elite WR's in the salary cap era are winning championships...

Because all of these Cowboys WR's made us a winning football team...

Defense, coaching, quality QB play for cheap is what wins championships. You need 2 of the 3.

We don't have 1 of those things currently.

It doesn't have a chance.

The Cowboys have become the conservative boring bunch.

They make a lot of smart football decisions every offseason and we all applaud their smart decisions all the way to mediocrity.

The teams finding success do crazy things like sign a 40 something year old QB during the offseason and let go of their 1st pick in the draft who lead the league in passing.

Teams like Arizona giving up on Josh Rosen after 1 year to sign Kyler Murray.

Chiefs telling Alex Smith goodbye and taking a complete gamble on a guy named Patrick Mahomes.

Dallas is boring.. They have a core group that hasn't had any playoff success at this level and they have chosen to lock that core down.

They built their team around WR's.. Paid a RB..

WE got bad contracts.. An aging Oline. Holes everywhere.

Their secret sauce is vanilla flavored. Draft guys and sign scrubs in FA. Thinking rookies will make a difference from the previous year.. That will be our upgrades next season. Rookies.... How will we ever get ahead when our annual upgrades are rookies...

They need to be a little more radical and moving on from Dak for a cheap QB contract is the move that can get us back in the race quick.

If they sign Dak they will have to get lucky in the draft and draft a transcendent player that provides a spark that this franchise desperately needs right now.

We need someone or something to carry us like the Oline used to and there is nothing I can point to on this roster that makes us special.
Aren’t you the clown that just said this week that you would sign dalton over dak?

And your solution is that we need a qb isn’t worth paying money to?

You are the opposite of genius. :lmao2::lmao:

I was the guy on here saying we should go after Tom Brady last offseason too.

I was met with the same responses as I am in this thread.

Brady only went on to throw 40 TDs this year and get his team to the playoffs.

You guys like status quo though.. Unfortunately so does ownership.

Let me get this straight.

Signing Dak to a long term deal would kill the team and make them stuck with mediocrity for years to come.

The right move is to let him walk. And draft a QB in the first round.

Oh hey dolphins. How about you trade us your top 5 pick who has been in the league one year, for Dak so you can sign him to a long term deal and “win now”

Come on man

Here's what people like you seem to forget when you bring up games like the 2019 eagles game. You fail to mention the 5 dropped passes on 3rd downs that killed drives. While we're at it not mentioning that the Cowboys receivers led the league in drops for the season. You also don't mention that Elliott got a whopping 47 yards rushing or Pollard fumbling away the ball. Lets not forget that defense you seem to think played so well yet allowed the eagles to chew up yards and clock and allowed the eagles to out posses the Cowboys 36 minutes to 23 minutes. To people like you it was only Prescott and none of those failures by the Cowboys played any part in the loss.

By your own admission that Tua may not ever be as good as Prescott yet you're willing to gamble he may and may end up with the Cowboys on another search for a franchise QB when he isn't and making it take that much longer for the Cowboys to get to the promised land. I thank God you have nothing to do with the Cowboys.

Im talking who Tua had in college. Smith and Waddell will go top 15 this year, meaning Tua had 4 top 5 picks at WR at the same time at Alabama. He has shown this year how much that helped him in college

Well...I would never come out and say your blind or dumbest thread or give all the negativity that your getting for your post. But I will say this, we already have too many players that are "worth the risk" type players and in the most important position in football, we cant take that risk. I like Dak and what he brings to the team. We know what he can do. Sign Dak, we need some Oline help and defense. I dont know what the defensive free agents that will be available but hopefully we can snag a young and proven free agent and not one who is washed up and at the end of his career or a blue light special that we normally get. Jerry will be our biggest problem like he has been for the past 25 years.

@CATCH17 ...you created this thread, so you must be asking for it.

We gone line up and Airplane yo-arse. How you gone trade a player that's not under contract? So we gotta sign Dak, pay him a signing bonus, then trade him. We gone line up and Airplane yo-arse.

LOL--JK.

Daily troll thread from the King of the Dak haters.
well he isn't the king he'd have to battle pappy and Khalidi for that but at least they are honest about their disdain. Catch tries to hide behind the contract with his disdain

Well, to me, if you are gonna trade Dak, trade him for picks, not Tua.
