He’s not making our defense better and has been a virtual no show so far this season. He’ll be looking for close to $40 million per season next year. He’ll be a training camp holdout. He only has one sack in our first 3 games and opponents have figured out how to neutralize him. He’ll be lucky to have double digit sacks this season with teams running the ball all day. He’s not making as many eye popping plays as he did his first couple of seasons and he continues to wear down. It’s just been reported our run defense is the worst through 3 games in the last 60 years in the NFL. Parsons says he only wants to play until he’s 30. He’s talking about being in the Olympics in four years. He doesn’t love football. We need to see what kind of haul we could get for him in a trade. We need to build the DL with a solid DT and add a quality RB.
Don't worry. He will get 3 sacks against 3 crappy teams before the season is over and people will believe he is amazing again.

What would you consider a “haul”? And what teams would you suggest would be interested?
No idea who would be interested at this stage but there would be quite a bit of interest. A haul would be a couple of first round picks and a third, along with a starting player. Unlikely we could get that much for him, but who knows. Dangle him out there and see what the offers are.

You had me at "a couple of first round picks and a third"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If used properly, the Cowboys could score a handful (or more) good players.

"The defense is bad so get rid of the good player" makes no sense. There isn't a single player in NFL history - or two - who fix what is wrong with this defense.

Get rid of Micah and teams are just going to throw it every play - which would be much worse.
its not a zero sum argument, no one is saying Micah isnt good, but when he is a pass rush specialist and you cant stop teams from running the ball for 270 yards maybe you need to invest in stopping the run first...or dont Jerry I mean we have been building the same defense for 30 years and its worked out very well for us....

Along with a starting player, preferably on the defense or an RB. His stock is likely to go down some if he has a down year and the defense continues to look as bad as it has. Last year at this time he had 4 sacks and 8 QB hits. He only has one sack this season and 6 QB hits. He hasn’t been around the QB as much. He had 5 QB hits in the opener and only one in the last two games. He’s headed for a down year.

Sacrificing the pass defense to better defend the run is stupid in 2024.

The Ravens have a JV passing offense, couldn't pass block, and still hit big plays through the air.

Tell that to the next team thats rushes for over 250 yards against us, can we get the ref to step in and remind them its a passing league? Maybe you have not noticed but the run defense has been a problem in alot of big loses including playoffs in this 28 year run....wonder what the Saints thought about how the passing game goes when they can run the ball (against us) and when they cant (the Eagles).....

The Saints killed Dallas through the air - same as GB, SF, and Buffalo last year. It's easy to be a good run team when you get a lead.

250 yards rushing doesn't mean anything if you don't generate points through the air.

During the regular season but bottom 5 against good teams and in the playoffs. We’re 29th in defense right now and Parsons is off to the worst start of his career.
That goes for both sides if the ball

so you think the Saints and Ravens passsed on us to set up the run? Hmm really seemed like they ran the ball and used PA of the run to pass on us...

That’s where most of his sacks are coming from. It’s the games that we’re dominating in. He’s not getting them against contending teams in critical situations. He’s not changing games. His playoff numbers are pretty troubling when you consider his four game total of only one sack and 4 QB hits. We’re 1-3 in those games and our defense has been the biggest issue. He had 5 QB hits in the opener against a Cleveland team that we were jumping all over. In the games against quality teams the last two weeks, ZERO sacks and only one QB hit. He’s not a leader like Ray Lewis, who could fire their defense up.

Granted he’s a great player, but he’s undersized and he’s not making our defense better. I’ve seen some regression in his play because teams know how to defend him. The first couple of seasons, I would’ve never suggested trading him. Someone mentioned trading him and I thought they were crazy. However, last season and how things have started off this season have made me totally change my position. All the talking he does on podcasts aren’t helping. I never see him trying to fire up his teammates. He just stands on the sidelines sucking air when we need him on the field.

I think they should’ve traded lamb and let Prescott go and rebuilt

No they passed the ball to get a lead - it is what always happens with this defense and then everyone cries about the run game.

The Ravens had completions of 30 and 56 on their first two drives of the game. The Saints completed passes of 39, 70 (TD) and 57 (TD) on their first three drives - the completed back-to-back first downs after 1- and 2-yard first-down rushes on their first two series.
