IF someoone would trade a first rounder, but I doubt it.

There is about 4 or 5 other teams in the NFL that he would be able to compete for the starting job.

I really wouldn't think you would get value higher than back up QB value for him and his price tag is to high for that. Unfortunately, we gambled a season and lot of money to see if he was a starter in the NFL.

We lost, we broke, we bought it.

I didn't like the contemptuous, dismissive reaction to this guy's question. To call the idea of a Romo trade "insane" is itself insane.

then can you tell me why "this guy" says something so stupid and *never* replies back into the thread?

like i said early on - he got what he wanted - people arguing. no sense in him even trying to justify something so stupid cause he got people to argue for him.

hence, his own lack of participation in his thread shows you he doesn't even believe it.

What do yall think we can get for Romo, I think we can get a 1st....

I think Dallas has spent years looking for a very good QB I think we have one now and would be a big mistake to trade him and start the long search all over again.

Romo hasn't amassed enough skins on the wall to be deemed "trade proof." For all we know, he's a flash in the pan, and if proven studs like Walker, Bledsoe, Haley, Portis, and Montana can be moved, so can dear old Tony. Do you really think we'd turn down a top 20 pick for Tony? Not that we'd get one. He's a Pro-Bowler in a bad year for QBs and has come down to Earth since that announcement.

"But what would we do at QB??!!"

Start over. Draft one high for a change. Trade for a proven starter who's languishing or disgruntled on another team. If Romo can be picked off the junk pile, so can someone else. The point is that there's not enough evidence that he's for real or the guy. Therefore, he can be moved.

:lmao2: :lmao:

So he has not had enough skins on the wall to be trade proof yet...you want to bring up the Walker trade.

I am sure if some team was offering us that many trade picks, like the walker situation than maybe you are right, he is not trade proof.

However I would think even you would admit that is not going to happen.

So I guess it is 99.99999% trade proof at this time, with just one little bitty teeny tiny remote chance of a trade.

:laugh1:

This is hilarious. I truly hope you are not serious.

Romo is the best thing to happen to this team in years. He will give us the opportunity to win multiple championships if we can get and keep a good supporting cast.

See how many players you can name that put up similar numbers to this in their first 10 starts.

Player Att Comp Yds Comp % Yds/Att TD TD % INT INT % Long Sack/Lost Rating
Tony Romo 337 220 2903 65.3 8.6 19 5.6 13 3.9 56 21/124 95.1

it's not gonna happen. you don't spend 4 years developing a player to give him up to start over. regardless if he has enought skins on the wall or not. romo is not and will not be on the trading block. even if you get the next vince young or matt leinart, you still have to go tru the growing pains before they take you to the playoffs.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of stupid threads that can generate themselves here. Trade possible the brightest Qb prospect they've had since Aikman retired. Hey, why don't they trade Ware to. Brilliant.

Maybe because he was immediately ambushed and mocked as a meth addict. Unlike him, I don't care what the hordes say.

Who said anything about the exact same package of picks? Just one well-positioned first rounder might get it done. Again, if a proven player like Walker can be moved, so can a mere prospect like Romo.

well when you stand up and say something monumentally stupid, you get stupid results.

been happening since the dawn of time.

and just because you don't care what the hordes say doesn't make you right.

he said something stupid and knows it - he was trolling for the reaction he got pure and simple.

Why would Dallas trade Romo and if so what would we do with the 1st rd pick? Draft a QB and hope he works out? Romo has shown enough to be given the chance to lead this team as for #1 picks at QB there are more bust than guys who make it so this ideal that you must be a high pick to pan out is non-sense where you get drafted has nothing to do with how you will perform in the NFL.

would you trade romo for brady quinn?

let's just start there and prepare for your own words to be used against you.

That's his crime? You don't think we can get a first? Ice, you have no faith in Tony.

the guy's name is Q the man.
bias is implied there and then the thread topic's stupidity garners all the subsequent replies.

Quinn? No. I think he's another Eli Manning waiting to happen. But every scout and GM would say he has greater upside than Tony. No shame in that.

No. They have to bring in solid competition in case his mild hot streak proves to be a fluke.

I'll assume you've spoken with every scout and GM. I can't imagine you'd fabricate or exagerate anything that could be a slight to a Cowboys player, coach, or groundkeeper.

so since he's almost a lock to be the #1 overall draft pick, what would you have us do for the future at QB considering *all qb's* at one point or another were prospects?

if you're entire point is that romo isn't "off limits" in regard to being traded, that's one thing - but to say you'll trade him for a 1st rounder and not even take the best chance on the board in quinn, who's hands would you put our future at qb into?
