The pure stupidity is being stubborn enough to act like Dak is still 24.

He lost most of his mobility, has an average arm and he's mentally weak in the biggest spots, it's year 10, it's not changing.

Lance is a much better athlete and has way more upside.
Dak had his best year of his career a year ago at 30 lol. So it’s not 24…..he actually had the worst season of his career career at 24…

Lance is a much better athlete than Joe Burrow too. It’s irrelevant to being an actual football player.

Lance ceiling as a back up. You are just weirdly enamored with his legs.

Mariota has started 74 games compared to Lance’s 5…….huge difference. Mariota should have been expected to be better. Lance may or may not develop but he needs a chance to play in real games somewhere.
You guys keep using games to justify looking mediocre. The minute Romo suited up you knew he had it and he was on the bench. Dak came right in and you knew he had something. I feel like this line of thinking came from Garrett….in a league that caters to quarterbacks now more then ever you do not need a plethora of games to look dominant.

I agree, those who have it is easy to see, not so much with Lance. All I am saying is he is worth getting a better look at for #2 over Rush or Grier. I am not advocating anything further, just a chance to be the backup because we all know it will come down to those three choices.

Here's the thing though:

Trey Lance isn't a good NFL QB....and he never will be

See....We need a guy who IS good at being an NFL QB.

We already have a bunch of guys who AREN'T good at it...we don't need one more like that.

Because trance isn't even close. It's not fair to trance
No one compared "Trance" to Dak. In fact, they've made a particular distinction that emphasizes that they haven't.

It's the Dak lovers who keep saying "Trance" has shown nothing, or that he will never amount to anything from his limited playing time, even compared to the rookies in the league who are around the same age.

What those who aren't biased by "Dak-googles" have said is that he has shown flashes of talent and needs to play more due to the latter, whereas Dak has shown plenty, is on the tail end of his career, and likely won't get any better. Dak's statistically irrelevant "all-pro" season is only meaningful for guys seeking a big pay day from idiot GMs.

Geno Smith has become a much better QB than he was when he entered the league. He was a bad starter. Neither Mayfield nor Darnold looked like they had something. You might can be wowed by their arm strength, etc., but certainly not their play their first few years in the league. And all of them have had much, much more starter snaps than Lance.

I don't know if he'll become starter-quality, and it's much more likely that he won't, but some quarterbacks do need a plethora of games before the game slows down and falls into place for them. Lance needs to play, and play a lot, if he's going to get there. The fact that he's not going to get to do that in the NFL unless the starter in front of him is out for the season and the team he is on doesn't have a more experienced backup means he'll have to go to a different league if he wants to get that playing time. Maybe even the CFL would be best for him.

Oh I agree. I for sure want him here over Rush. At the very least I feel he can at least be a backup here. I still think the front office didn’t play him to not raise his value.

You seem obtuse.

Dak was second team All-Pro against the worst pass defenses (32 ranked) in the league after nine years. An irrelevant accomplishment.
Post the link to where you got that from. Let’s see who’s the obtuse one…. Imagine saying All Pro is irrelevant but being a career backup like Lance is an accomplishment lol. Yeah post that link….

I'm not going to do your work for you. It's been posted here numerous times.

No one said "being a career backup" is an accomplishment. Stop making imaginary inapplicable comparisons because you're just not very smart.

But notice what all those guys have in common….well I can’t speak on Geno but in regards to Mayfield and Darnold? Sucked until they got with Shanahan and McVay…..an offense Lance apparently couldn’t grasp or couldn’t develop under. I’m also not entirely sure how good Baker and Donald are but it’s hard to get overly excited by the next Baker Mayfield….especially if I gotta wait a few years for it to happen.

Dak and Rush are good QBs. Good enough to win under Jerry? Probably not. The problem is the Cowboys need a Mahomes and I don’t know where the hell to get one.

So you make a claim and can’t post the link? Of course you can’t because it’s not true and it’s been debunked already. I knew you didn’t have the link just wanted to see if you was gonna play yourself and you did.

Being traded to the Cowboys was a curse for the kid. What is helping him is that he is still young while being around the NFL all these years.
