Trey Lance trade is one of the worst moves Jerry has ever done

LoL, so basically it's just a problem for you and America's Cowboy on this forum? Because the team doesn't give a rats arse about what we discuss in the forum and what guys like SAS comment about.

The trade is, at the moment at least, neither good nor bad. Giving up a fourth is absolutely reasonable for this guy and the timing doesn't mean ****. Dak will start and that's that. Don't wet your pants about this. Just hope that your boy performs in the playoffs as nothing else matters.
"Your boy"? Dak hater to the core ^^^^.

I hope Dak gets let go after next season, and Cowboys Nation is forced to watch your new boy Lance try to duplicate (or come anywhere close) to what Dak has accomplished.

And that’s say a lot. There was absolutely no reason to make this trade at this time in the year for another QB. He’s probably not going to play at all this season. All it does is create QB controversy with the haters who actually believe that he’s better than Dak. And what’s worse, MM had no idea about the trade until it was already done. Dumb move by the ownership. Just horrible timing right before the season opener.
There was no reason to make this trade? There was 60M reasons to make this trade.
I can see the Dak Fanatics have their feelings hurt, I mean how small minded is this?
It's an opportunity to develop a young talent, he's a better athlete than Dak, has better feet and a better arm for a 4th rd pick.

Dak will want 60M a year soon, options are needed.

Here's a hint Rockport...Don't marry the players, you're not a kid anymore, it's business.

This isn't an ego affair for Jerry and 'da boys.' One is smart when opportunity is in one's own window of opportunity and the cheapest to get that on the books. I don't compare this trade as in the neighborhood of protecting electricity production or a Presidential debate for Texas.

It has merit and the QB is a great kid who deserves some sacrifice in his development. I'm actually proud that Jerry and the Executives have taken upon themselves to tackle the projects for this deserving kid.

C'mon, this is still Dallas Cowboy pride in discussions...

I never said anything about losing a 4th round pick. My complaint is the timing of this and the fact that MM had no clue this was coming. Jerry ***** up big time Creating controversy right before opening day.
Controversy? How about signing a future Hall of Fame defensive end who had just peed on his coach's car? Then was stupid enough to pick a fight in the locker room with Jim Jeffcoat, who picked him up off the ground and slammed him into the lockers...Jerry can handle those highlight reels and with some dignity, if one is watching also, on the human side of respect.

What you call controversy I call competition. Not this year but if Dak doesn’t perform better than last year he will have competition next year. It’s a good thing

So this is worse than wasting multiple firsts on Galloway or a first and a third on RW11?

Even if you do not like the trade the OP premise is asinine.

The way I look at it, tell me of a 4th round quarterback since Prescott that is a better prospect than Lance.
You took the words out of my mouth.

Nott even close to the mighty blunders JJ has done in the past.

The OP is though one of the worst post i have seen from him...and that is saying something.

This was Chad Hennings who picked him up, instead. Former player at the Air Force Academy...sorry.

What has Dak accomplished besides being one of the most controversial players here in the forum?
I pray Jerry gives you complainers exactly what you want. Complaints and rants nonstop for years now. Ok, truly hope Jerry lets Dak go to any other team of his choosing and force Jerry's newly secretly traded for QB in Lance to try to duplicate what Dak has accomplished. We will see who was right and knew what they were talking about all of this time once and for all.

I will ask one more time. What has Dak accomplished.

It could be like drafting Dak in the 2016. What was dumb about that? It turned out to be one of the best drafts picks in the history of Dallas. Lance could be Stephen McGee so what. It’s a 4th round pick.

Are you mad that Dak might have some competition?

We really can’t judge decisions made by what some on this forum might say or how it fuels their dialogue .

I’ve always maintained this forum isn’t always a gauge of Cowboys Nation. And I’d encourage all not to spend all of their Cowboys past time in this forum as well as seeking their news source elsewhere.

This is a good place to discuss your opinions .

That said you have to take these opportunities when presented . And if you heard Jethro and Sons explanation last night it didn’t present itself until Friday. And as they said this was a move for the future down the road in developing a potential franchise QB as they intend to extend Dak sooner than later.

The fact this could fuel troll behavior in this forum is a silly reason to not make the deal.

This isn't an issue involving personal ethics. If that becomes the issue continually thrown in his face, hell yes, I hope he stirs the pot non-stop.

The post is nothing more than circling the wagons to protect Dak from a non existing group referred to as "Dak haters." from a scenario the OP made up in his head.

It was a good move, at the very worst it’s cost us a 4th rounder…
But it’s got a lot of upside… it should at least give Dak a kick that he needs to improve on last season, and also it means that the Cowboys won’t have to cave into a bad contract when Dak’s management negotiate his next one.
And also you never know, but Lance might actually develop into the player he was hoped to be.

Don't disagree with the need or the timing as you state......not sure why any consideration is given for this board about the trade. I'll add Trey Lance to the 2024 Fall Guy Nominee list for the board to simmer over during the season. Jerry wants GM of the Year now.
