Trey Lance trade is one of the worst moves Jerry has ever done

This trade is a low risk and high reward. Lance cost was a day 3 pick which Jerry loves. He got 2 starting QB's without spending much. Here is a chance to add a talent for the same low cost.

I wouldn't go as far as saying we have two starting QBs. Lance is so far from being a competent starting QB.

Cowboys acquired John Kitna to be Romo's backup. So yes, they acquired a guy they had no real interest in playing.

Agreed. My friend send me the link to the trade the day it happened and I couldn’t believe how dumb they are. I could live with the 4th but it’s the money they’re paying.

And that’s say a lot. There was absolutely no reason to make this trade at this time in the year for another QB. He’s probably not going to play at all this season. All it does is create QB controversy with the haters who actually believe that he’s better than Dak. And what’s worse, MM had no idea about the trade until it was already done. Dumb move by the ownership. Just horrible timing right before the season opener.

Sometimes opportunity arises at an inconvenient time or a less convenient time but it’s such a good opportunity you take the shot. If that isn’t to take a competition then what is he

I like the trade. 4th round pick for a 22 year old QB that was picked number 3 overall is a good risk that could pay off.

He has the talent, just needs development. 49ers seem like a bunch of drama between getting office and coaches about taking Lance and just wasn't a good situation.

Here, Lance can sit and develop without any pressure.

As far as QB controversy is concern, I think it's silly. Nobody in their right mind thinks Lance will take Daks spot. It does put pressure on Dak to perform and he seems to play his best when he has competition
