We paid the most for the QB who has done the least from that ‘21 draft.

Lance has reportedly shown little to nothing in practice so far in his time in Dallas.

We won’t have a 4th round pick in a draft where gurus are saying there will be plenty of 3rd round grades available in the 4th rd.

To put a cherry on top, we’re probably going to end up losing Lance for nothing after this season.

Shambolic front office.

What an ignorant take on a situation that could save this team from disaster. With all the contract chaos going on with this team, sacrificing our QB1 may be the answer to our financial hell. Having Trey Lance to fall back on may be our saving grace. Having him available only cost us a 4th round pick. It's a good deal that looks even better the more it becomes obvious that the Dak price tag is too high. You don't know what you don't know about what Trey Lance has shown at practice, so why assume the worst? Reports say he is working hard to inherit the QB2 position. He's more than capable of being our QB1 if and when Dak is gone, extending Trey will be the move that saves this team from QB purgatory.

Staubach served a military commitment for a number of years after being drafted. Yet, people are complaining about Lance “not showing anything” (which is false) for a few years due to not playing because of COVID and injury. Did Staubach forget how to play QB in his time in the military? Can Lance improve his game if that’s what he’s been committed to and working on? I’m not saying Lance will be another Staubach because obviously that isn’t the point of the analogy.

It seems like some people know why Lance was traded for and they just don't like the implications.

SF metrics are much more refined than our FO has the capability of ever achieving.

No matter what you want to say if Lance doesnt play it was a bad trade Dak or no Dak...compared to other teams value of trade THAT trade was a bad value if Lance doesnt play...period..

If you compare it to the other trades for QB's it would be considered a bad trade for value thats what that chart is showing...now if Lance hits the field and can play then Jerry could say "Ha see I stole that guy" ..but to try and say Trey Lance is worth more than Justin fields if neither play is not correct.

Whatever the Cowboys know about Trey Lance, and it has to be more than any other team knows, he remains unsigned for 2025. Hardly a vote of confidence.

And if that scenario plays out then yes Jerry can say "I stole him"...if he can not play it would be very hard to say it was a good trade compared to the other QB trades...thats all this is saying..on the surface it looks like a reach for a 4th pick compared to the value others recieved for QB's with more playing time and some success...

This abomination trade. Is probably the only glimmer of hope this team has for the next few years.

Maybe but they will have to resign him, will they do that knowing he can play or will they do it just because Dak is leaving without knowing he can play...again the risk/reward VS the other QB trades is what this graph is showing..Will Trey resign for 5 mill a year, i doubt it but lets see....if he doesnt play and wants 25 mill a year to find out, this gets a whole lot riskier...

we could have traded for Brady in his prime and the dak groupies would have been pissed. "Bill made him. He signed cheap because his wife makes a lot of money. He's old" lmao......
