I’d like to think there was a master plan behind throwing away a 4th round pick for Lance. And now, after that playoff debacle, we will start to see that plan unleashed.
Jerry didn't even tell the coach before he did it.

There is no master plan. This was Jerry wanting to flex on everyone just because he could.

Personally, I haven't seen any sign that Lance can play at all.

Games completely different if you QB can lead your team to points and sustain drives.
QB has a little more leeway if the defense can make stops. Now giving up 13 points on two interceptions doesn't exactly help the defense either.

There’s just so much bad vibes with a quarterback no one believes in.

It isn’t fun right now. He’s clearly a nervous guy out there .

It ain’t gonna happen
Which is why when Romo got healthy in 16 they wouldn't let him compete with dak for the starting job, everyone knew Romo would win but since Dak is mentally weak, tony never got the chance.. same thing is happening now,the cowboys are afraid to have a true QB competition, dak couldn't handle it, which is why cooper rush is the backup and not Lance,I'm not saying Lance is better but just his presence as the backup would have dak flustered, imo.

McCarthy in the last year of his contract. Normally they would do an extension now, so he's not a lame duck. Guess what they won't and thus he will be let go. Jerry is the richest owner in the league. He can hire whomever he wants to.
He’s wealthy enough to hire any coach he wants, but he’s not “the richest owner in the league”.

Maybe do the guy a favor and give him an out with all this. There’s only so much “let’s get it” type stuff you can say to these guys

Do you think the we try to bring Lance along during the offseason and try to get him into the starting lineup for next year? If not week 1 then if DAK struggles throughout the season?
Dak will count 59 mil on the cap next season , so Jerry has to pay him or cut him . We know jerry thinks Dak is a super star . So nothing will happen unfortunately. Jerry has dug in this franchise with a mediocre qb

Right? It’s like people out there actually believe Jerry Jones just magically “changed” one year.

This is what he always does when he thinks the team is close. He has to feel like he contributed to it somehow, even when the best thing for him to do is stay away. He’s the Elon Musk of football.

Get a new HC and let him pick a qb in the first round to compete with Lance and Dak

Since when is Prescott truly ever struggled during the regular season that's not been the problem

these losses are team losses and you can point to the defense more than the offense so quit trying so hard to get rid of Prescott and start thinking about how many points we would have had to score and all these losses this year...

and even in a win against Seattle you're blaming that on the offense somehow you might want to check harder this defense has been the most underwhelming disappointment underachieving overrated nonsense I saw I mean my my God they had to change his entire offense after week 5 when he realized the defense wasn't what he thought it was going to be...

Will we? I doubt it. I think we should draft someone like Bo Nix and have him compete with Trey Lance. This QB draft class is so good that you can find a guy at the end of the 1st who would go top 5 in another year. We’d have two young top 5-potential QBs to e see what they’ve got. If they suck, we’ll likely have another top 5 pick in 2025 to try again. If we keep Dak, it’ll be more of the same.
So when you mean more the same you mean winning 12 games every year and going to the playoffs 5 out of the seven years that Prescott was healthy you're trying to tell me these young quarterbacks are gonna bring us to the playoffs 75% of the years they play I realize we need to go further in the playoffs but I don't know what you think these young players are just gonna walk in and instantly make us better than A12 win team that makes the playoffs that they're gonna instantly play better and ohh by the way you might wanna give them a defense and a run game that's something Prescott doesn't have every playoff..,. Let's go to the game plans so we have a lot of work to do before you even get to the quarterback the quarterback may have had a shaky first half with the defense gonna make some stops they could have probably made a legitimate comeback but when you give up 21 straight points to start the half there isnt any young rookie quarterback or trey lance where's the defense where's the run domminant offensive line in the playoffs???

Lance has shown nothing to warrant hope he will be the savior. It’s true Dak can’t get it done but there’s a reason SF basically gave Trey away. He was literally bouncing balls at receivers feet during camp this year.

The Cowboys should trade Prescot, I'm sure there is a sucker in the league that would say he would be great for their organization and give up some decent draft picks for him. JJ could use those picks to possibly move up in the draft to get a QB who knows how to lead a team to the promise land because Prescot has once again proven that he can't be trusted in meaningful games. It looked like he was trying to blame CeeDee all game long for his ridiculous mishaps and you could also see CeeDee wasn't too happy with Prescot trying to lay the blame on him.................

But this is Jerry. Who the heck knows.

This.

And not only a fourth round pick, first round salary.

Lance had to be an insurance policy. No other reason. Does Jerry cash in on that? He should, but I bet he doesn't.

This league rewards losing.

I'm in the burn it to the ground mode.

Keep just enough around to fairly evaluate Lance on offense.

Yeah, we will probably not win to many games. But that's the point. To see if Lance can play and to lose.

It's the only way to rebuild. There is a big difference between drafting at the top of each round vs the bottom of each.
