Just met his dad last week. The team is very high on him and the one bit of news on him I liked hearing was "no one will out work him". We will be able to see how far he has come very soon.I don't believe the team pays Rico a roster salary to be on the practice squad last year if he was a long shot. I also don't believe the team goes without drafting a tight end his year if he is a long shot. The team obviously loves the guy and everything you hear about him has been great.
There have been stranger things that have happened in the NFL than an athletic freak taking a year to learn the position and excelling in the NFL.
I think they landed them in the draft. Time to see if they can find a starting RT, back up QB, and some depth. So no additional safeties or corners?? That seems idd.
From CBS (I guess Blake Jarwin was SO good that they needed to list him twice):
Cowboys
- Cooper Rush, QB, Central Michigan
- Lewis Neal, Edge, LSU
- Lucas Wacha, Edge, Wyoming
- Kennan Gilchrist, OLB, Appalachian State
- Blake Jarwin, TE, Oklahoma State
- Jahad Thomas, RB, Temple
- Joe Jones, LB, Northwestern
- Brian Brown, WR, Richmond
- Levon Myers, OL, Northern Illinois
- Blake Jarwin, TE, Oklahoma State
- Michael Coe, OL, North Dakota
Dibs on Jahad Thomas udfa pet cat aka Dunbar's replacement.
They say run after contact is non-existent. Yep, that is pretty much Dunbar.
Left out Dan Skipper and Nate Theaker. I like these UDFA offensive linemen we're bringing in.

Rico does talk a lot (on the internet), but it generally seems football focused.Just met his dad last week. The team is very high on him and the one bit of news on him I liked hearing was "no one will out work him". We will be able to see how far he has come very soon.
Exactly, you don't pay a practice squad player a roster salary if you don't think you have something there.
I can't think of another time that has happened.
Really?
That is excellent.
Better than Chaz Green right now.
Cooper Rush had some pretty good numbers his first two years as a starter, but he dipped below 60 percent as a passer last year, his interceptions went up and his TDs went down.
Got the impression he has always been a leader and the star in all his other sports. Definitely will be paying more attention to him now.Rico does talk a lot (on the internet), but it generally seems football focused.
I'm at a loss how you replace the great Dunbar. Is this kid going to be on IR most of the time...They say run after contact is non-existent. Yep, that is pretty much Dunbar.
