The PUP list is for players who were not able to pass a camp opening physical. once the player practiced 1 time they were no longer eligible for the PUP

Once on the pup they could be removed (Like Flo was) or placed on inactive PUP in which they have to remain until week 6 at the ealiest

but to answer the question since he practiced he is not eligible

Does inactive PUP still take up a roster space for those six weeks?

I'm not pretending it didn't happen... I'm saying it doesn't matter and it's not a big deal yet. The difference is I know not to put too much stock into preseason.

the cowboys best hope is that suisham develops. he's got a huge leg on kickoffs but needs to work on his short game.

until then - we can only hope vanderjagt will make a speedy recovery and doesn't deteriorate too quickly. watching him, i honestly thought the guy was gonna cry after the second miss and the fans booing him. that ain't a good sign.

Easy math. There was a lot of back and forth about the possibility of keeping a kickoff specialist, and we had seen nothing from Vanderjagt thus far from the preseason, there was a lot of pressure on him to get out there and, well, show something.

He did, and was clearly hindered, and he looked like crap. If anyone taped the game, or assuming it replays on the NFL network or whatever, just watch his kicking motion, it doesn't look right. I'm not saying this guy is teflon and I'm not saying those shanked easy FGs don't suck, but he really doesn't look 100%.

im starting to think were cursed or something man we shouldve got vinateri he wouldve cost a little more but we wouldnt need 2 kickers on our team so basically were paying more for vandergajt and a extra kicker than wat we wouldve paid for vinateri and if we wouldve got vinateri it wouldve of saved us a roster spot........................ahh but this is just preseason if he does it in the regular season i want him out

I knew we'd regret not signing Vinatieri, but not like this! I mean c'mon! All of a sudden Vanderjerk is no better than what we had last year?! We lost 2 games last year because of missed shots like the 2 tonight. What a joke. I'm disgusted...

That is going to be a big topic of many threads between now and jacksonvile. I say look over the cut on Saturday and bring in a couple of guys. Have a 3 or 4 kicker shootout and see how everybody stacks up against one another. If Vandy wins that, fine. If not, I have no problemo letting him go.
