Unfreaking believable...

ESPN has now changed to, "T.O. is screwing the Cowboys over by causing another distraction."

In other words, they made up a story about suicide, and now that they've been proven wrong, they try to spin it to now say he's causing the demise of the team by causing another distraction.

I love how John Clayton earlier was backing the mental issue belief is now saying, "It's just like I figured it was with the supplements and the pain pills causing his problem." What an idiot ..

They got a story wrong and then try to change the subject and you are surprised?

In "Reality";) the media created the distraction. Not TO.

It should read, "ESPN is screwing the Cowboys over by causing another TO distraction."

Is the media ever guilty of anything?

Yes. The media can be very irresponsible and oftentimes is.

But it gets back to, IMO, taking control of one's own life. You can't do anything about life being unfair. You can do something about your reaction to life, even if it is unfair.

Similarly, the media is what it is. As long as we have freedom of the press, we're going to have irresponsible media. And we have to address irresponsible journalism through appropriate venues - letters to the editor, cancellation of subscriptions, etc.

But with respect to players like TO, they are going to have to take responsibility of their own actions and understand a cardinal rule with respect to publicity: if you are successful in attracting media attention understand that it will follow you for the good or for the bad.

That's the part TO - and certain members in this forum - is having a hard time grasping.

There were several members in this forum that seen the opportunity to put some kicks into TO and Cowboy management just as fast as they could.

Yes there was! And, they did it without even waiting for any real facts to come out!

It's amazing what people reveal about themselves during incidents like this...it makes you change your perspective about some posters that otherwise you never new existed....

Because of all the ESPN fabrications we may be seeing reverse psychology at it's best. They just may be placing the noose around their own necks.

Sentiment is trending towards TO's Corner. :)

I lost respect for several people today. I thought they were level-headed individuals-- But I've found out otherwise.

Listen.

I didn't KNOW Watkins was so tall!

I apologize

Come on, Mikey, it's hard to stay 'level-headed' in the midst of a bye-week media circus.:)

ESPN sucks and whatever credibility they had is completely gone and they will never get it back.

Kick Cowboy management? Why? If anyone's an innocent bystander in this mess, it's them. But to swallow the "official" story peddled by TO's team--just because they say so--is the height of idiocy.

So, do you think T.O. really tried to commit suicide? I don't understand this post...

Are you saying that the "official story peddled by TO's team" is not the truth? Are you thnking or believing that TO really did try to kill his self?

There is. The NFL network carried the news conferences live, had phone calls from Deion and discussion with panelists including former players. They were all treating this with all the fairness one can reasonably expect.

******!!That pisses me off. Oceanic Time Warner digital is too busy carrying NBATV instead of the NFL Network. This really sucks. I knew I wanted satellite but the townhouse I live in isn't pointing in the right direction. Damn you OTW!!!:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

What ticks me off more than anything? I find myself feeling sorry for and supporting T.O. because of the way the media has gone after him.

i'll bring the hotdogs over this weekend, reality. i'm in this new club also. but look around at the fans of the team in here today - regardless of what happened, it's still all TO. *they* didn't overreact. *they* didn't buy into a lie.

TO made me do it.

didn't work as a child, and it's still not working.

Hey, iceberg...you racist! I gave you props earlier for being one of the level head in this whole mess...

You said, "let's wait for facts before we get out of control..." and you were right!

I learned alot today...by just waiting and reading...

Save a hotdog for me...

I'm saying that there's too many people on this board willing to sweep this under the rug and "move on." If a congressman was caught with $50,000 in a shoebox, would we accept his version of events and just drop it? Of course not. But some are all too eager to bow before Team TO, who have every incentive to lie to protect their cash cow. If the police set him up or quoted him inaccurately, then prove it. Getting back on the field doesn't mean he's not a troubled man.

Do you, as a person, think T.O. tried to kill himself?

We all know he's a head case...but, that's a different matter in regards to this incident.

I have not read any posts that have said the "police set him up." (to many freaking posts to read today)!

So, do you think he tried to commit suicide?

I don't know. None of us will ever know for sure, but that's my point. The "move on, nothing to see here" posts are woefully premature. If I were the Cowboys, I'd proceed on the assumption that he tried to take his own life and monitor him very closely. Anything short of that would be irresponsible.
