They aren't losing against the Giants. You don't see punt returns on players blocked into them causing a turnover, and a premier player falling down leading to an INT. That itself lead to 15 points. Remove 15 points from the Giants total and it's a different looking score. Arizona you have to watch
Or giving up a 92 yard drive or a 70 yard td at the end of a game. That is just in the last 2 weeks. Their secondary is flat out bad.

The Giants aren't Seattle at home, and their offense was only able to score 10 points against an Eagles team with a scrub back 7. They don't have the offense that can score the 30 or 40 points the Eagles will drop on them. As I've said the Cardinals have a better chance.

The playoff order of precedence for the Division is:

1) Head-to-Head
2) Division record
3) Record against Common Opponents
4) Conference record
5) Strength if Victory

Eagles losing to Arizona will give the Division to Dallas based in Conference records as long as Dallas wins their last 2 games.

Eagles beating Arizona, but losing to the Giants will give the Division to Dallas based on Division record as long as Dallas wins their last 2 games.
good summary

outside shot…neither one of us seems to want to win it so feels like we have better odds than the 18% but we’ll see

if Rams stay hot and win first round, we could possibly skip the Niners in second round if we go in as #5

I didn't realize until looking at the standings today that we have the fifth seed sewed up no matter what we do. Worst we can finish is 10-7, while the only other wild cards that can finish with seven losses are teams we beat (the Rams and Seahawks). Not saying that would be how I'd want us to head into the playoffs, but we really can't improve our position without help from the Eagles or hurt our position. Now, we need to win, of course, because you never know what the Eagles will do and we need to head into the playoffs with some momentum after two straight loses.

The Cowboys should win both games and it wouldn't surprise me if they end up winning the division or winning at Tampa and I think that any of the playoff teams can win the 1st playoff games.
I would think McCarthy knows he's got to win the wild-card game to keep his job, although with the Joneses you never can tell. He will have led the team to the playoffs for three straight season and that might be enough for Jerruh.

Surprising we have w second best odds in the nfc of making the SB. I’d put our odds behind that if SF, Philly and Detroit.

If we win at Tampa, I hope we don't think that takes the road monkey off our back. Team needs to be extra motivated to show it can beat a contender on the road. Of course, in the playoffs they need to be extra motivate anyway.

So if we win out and Eagles lose to Arizona, who wins the NFC East?
Eagles win it. With our loss to Miami, we would lose the common opponents tie breaker. Eagles have to lose the last game of the season to the Giants for Dallas to win the division. I'm not even sure the Giants show up for that game.

That’s not correct. Eagles lost to both the Jets and Seahawks, teams we beat. Common Opponents tiebreaker would be tied so it would go to Conference record. This is where losing to AFC teams helps.

You watch somebody else will post something that isn't correct. I found it funny that the people that are on TV covering the NFL didn't know after the Miami game that the Cowboys have a chance at the 2 and the 1.

Injuries and matchups matter. Dallas won their first Super Bowl in large part because of playing an up and coming, but inexperienced team. The Eagles won the NFCC last year in very large part because of injuries at the QB spot for SF. Just get to the post season and see what happens.

That said, the 1st round bye is HUGE today where only 1 team gets it.

Did you watch the Eagles Giants game? Have you watched the Eagles play the last 5 weeks? And for that matter all season?
Football is the only sport where fans delude themselves into believing it is better to look good in a loss than to look bad in a win. That never happens in basketball, hockey, or baseball. The Eagles have played a more difficult schedule through 15 games than the Cowboys, have twice as many wins against teams that currently have winning records, and somehow football fans can rationalize the team with the easier schedule and less wins is the better team. I guess that does make for interesting banter on fan forums. I’m going to check out a Panthers forum and find out why Carolina is actually the best team in the NFL.

Thanks for the feedback. It's funny, the Cowboys own the tiebreaker over the Eagles. I guess the league thinks they are the better team. They sure look like it.

The only way Dallas win the division is to win out and the Eagles lose against the Giants. The game against the Cardinals is inconsequential.

There it is, I knew someone would post something that wasn't correct. It only took a few minutes.
