And kept his cap on, i kept waiting for Romo to come back out of the tunnel.ha

He just sat there and stared straight ahead like he was in a daydream. Wasn't talking to Linehan. Just sat there.

Usually when a QB goes down, you see this mad run for a helmet and really fast warm-up sideline chaos going on.

Weeden looked like he was waiting to hear who was going in at quarterback.

Not what I saw he was listening to Linehan and fact is he went 7 for 7 and a TD so then what is the issue? Evidently he was ready to go in.
Coming down on him for nothing today. His comment you make a big deal out of it and now this and yet results would prove he was ready to step in.

No issue really. It was just strange, much like this quote. Doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme, it's just odd.

Only thing that matters is him going out and helping the Cowboys win. I think we can agree on that.

Weeden also suffers from Troy Aikman disease, which is defined by the inability to choose a helmet big enough for his head.

Waited then went 7/7 for 73 yards a TD and a win

Maybe they should tell him Cassels starting, then put him in before kickoff

He did a fine job, although I think I could have thrown a touchdown pass against Byron Maxwell.

Good gosh, that looks like some wasted Eagles money there.

That was weird, too.

I don't think I've ever seen a QB not warm up before going into a game. He just sat there like he needed Garrett to go over and call on him.

"Oh, me? I get to play? Awesome, coach!"

I thought the same thing. Gave me false hope that maybe Romo is ok lol.

Yesterday, during the media hour at Valley Ranch, Brandon Weeden made the comment:

(paraphrasing) "I'm going to be auditioning for 32 teams out there. I hope to be back here, I love it here, but I know that's the reality of this business."

This is an extremely odd time to make a statement like that. That's a PRESEASON comment that you hear from bubble guys and undrafted rookies, not regular season backup quarterbacks starting games in September.

Weeden is the designated starting quarterback on a 2-0 team with Super Bowl aspirations heading into an eight-week stretch without Tony Romo. He's the guy. He has a great opportunity to contribute to the Cowboys, and his mind is on putting up some good tape for other clubs to see?

When I heard that, I was really glad they went out and signed Matt Cassel. That quote was just strange.

Already feeling the Kellen Moore heat.......;)

He's telling the truth. He's knows that a healthy Romo will be the starter for the Cowboys no questions asked. And every QB in the NFL wants their chance at being the starting guy somewhere. So Weeden knows his best chance of doing that is by putting up big stats while Romo is out and leading the team to some wins.

But he isn't trying to make a team. He's on a team. And he's got eight weeks to "Steve Beuerlein" his way into Cowboys lore. THAT should be what he's thinking.

He basically said, "I hope I don't suck too bad that I can't get another job somewhere next year."

Oh my..."The Beuerlein Plan"...does he even have enough gas?

That's fine to think, but you don't say that. He should be talking about the here and now. It shouldn't be about a big contract and starting position for another team next year, at least not as a public statement.

I've literally never heard a player say something like that in September when he's basically been handed the offense for two months.

Whatever lights a fire under his back end and keeps him from staring down his receiving options is fine by me...perhaps a bit quizzical, yes.

I'm glad he said this. He knows he's playing for his career right now.
