...let's see.........which one of these thing don't belong with the other?

1) hunting deer which is entirely legal.
2) buying tasty burgers that have come straight from a slaughterhouse which is entirely legal.
3) killing dogs and funding a dogfighting arena both on your property and across state lines making it a federal offense.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I talking about in the context of Vicks future in the NFL. Vick broke federal law so hes going to be punished but as i have stated before i couldnt see him getting much more of a ban than Jones got.

Punching strippers and having your posse shoot two people is worse than dogfighting dont you think?

I'll tell you something Fuzzy. I don't agree with you on this but I don't hate you for what you think either. I simply view it as wrong in terms of what most of the country believes and what I believe the NFL will think.

I do believe that hitting women is a dispicable offense. Heck, beating anybody or anything is pretty dispicable IMO. There are other ways. No question that ordering your friends to shoot a person is much worse, no question. The problem is one of being able to prove it. If it can be proven that Jones did indeed order this then he should get the chair. Not 18 to 36. Not a life time ban. He should be strapped to a chair, fitted for a straight jacket and a mouth piece, feet and head wet and the switch should be thrown. Now, this is a bit graphic and I acknowledge that but that's how I see it if Jones is found guilty. Obviously, the difference in what I think should happen to Vick and what should happen to Jones defines the differences in sevarity of offenses. This is what I believe but first, you gotta prove that Jones did it.

Its called an objective outlook. None of us are going to agree on what should be done to Vick so looking at past actions of the league is a good objective indicator.

It's inaccurate given the current Commissioner. Tags didn't show nearly as much interest in off-field behavior as Goodell has.

FuzzyLumpkins said:
If you really wnat an idea of what Goodell might do look at Jones. He got a year for repeat offense including a shooting. Do you really think that Vick is that much worse than Jones?

No I don't.

And I hope Jones is gone for good too.

For the record, I don't think Goodell has to do much to keep Vick out of the league.

The 32 owners can do that for themselves.

Could there possibly be enough rope?

Sounds like a good time to open up a hemp factory.

I doubt it...but POS and his minions are a good start.

Except when they're pooping on your pillow because you ignored them all during the draft. :(

You seem to be confusing morality with the law.
I have my own set of morals, and to be honest I don't really care what the law or "society" thinks of my morals.

Would the law stop me from doing certain things even if I thought they were perfectly moral? Yes. Vick is an idiot. He threw away his career on something that wasn't worth doing, no matter what your morals are. Being that it is illegal, the risk was far too strong to even consider running a dog-fighting ring.

My point is that Vick, while he is a colossal idiot, is not much worse as a person than a deer hunter or a cow slaughterer.

A dog are no better than a deer. They're both animals. I couldn't give less of a crap which animal makes the better pet.

As i said earlier, it is so senseless. I owned a Jack for 3 years and someone shot him. He was mortally wounded and had to be put down. It was either my one neighbor(lived out of this little town) or it was some passer by that did it just for the heck of it. Either way the dog wasn't hurting anyone and the snselessness of the act is what hurts me. What Vick and these guys do to these animals is senseless.

No one is arguing the fact that its illegal and I dont really care to have another argument about moral objectivism although for the most part you guys fail to justify it beyond it being illegal.

Hes going to jail and the prosecutor is doing his job in upholding the laws that he is duty bound to respect. Heck Vick is even agreeing with the charges levied against him.

Really at this point the question is whats next.

So you have no compassion for a living, breathing, feeling being just because it isn't human? You are pro-animal cruelty obviously. You know most serial killers started out torturing animals. So what does that make you? I could never take pleasure in the suffering of a living thing.

What's next is, will the judge accept the plea agreement as is or impose his own sentencing?

Well apparently you haven't read Nav22's post where he doesn't see the difference between illegally killing a dog or dogs and deer hunting or buying burgers from a slaughterhouse - both of which are obviously legal.

As for what is next, I'm on record. He's done in the NFL.
