Video Proof... Glenn dropped pass. NO SAFETY

He turned to Romo the ball came in chest high he caught the ball turned and slipped on the play. At that point the ball does touch the ground but only after the catch is made. As he gets up the ball is stripped. It was a catch, it was a fumble and it was a safety. You guys can keep on with this all you want but the only things the team disputed was the TD and replay corrected that.

this is the maddening part - people will continue to whine as if it will fix anything or prove they're "right".

the NFL looked at it, they reviewed it, they used the same film we're seeing now, and they made the call. grab a box of kleenix and get over it people!

Why you continue to participate in a thread you don't even believe in I don't know, but ...

Like I said, I am not making a stand either way, but have you watched the 2nd video in this thread in slow motion ?

It looks like he did not slip, but is following the ball to the ground to regain posession of it. He pops up so quick it looks like he hadn't lost balance or anything, but that he only went down to get the ball.

If he had already caught it, (1)why does he not have it against his chest, or (2)why would he use the ball to catch his "slip?, instead of using one hand to hold the ball, and one hand to catch himself."

Players don't usually try to regain balance by reaching out with both hands while holding the ball to catch themselves.

Dallas had the play reviewed and won the challenge. Our HC and our WR have not once said that was a bad play and to see people blaming this on the refs is a joke. He caught it, he turned and slipped and the ball on the ground at that point is meaningless, had he fell on it it would have been down right there but he tried to get up to make a play and was stripped. I don't blame Glenn for trying to make a play but Glenn damn well knew it was a catch which is why he turned and tried to get the ball back. The review booth damn sure knew it as well as did Parcells.

Exactly. Everything Glenn did in the moments after the play (and since then, for that matter) indicates he thought it was a catch. He tried to run with the ball after it had touched the ground, he went after the ball after it was knocked loose, he didn't complain when the officials were signalling touchdown, he didn't go to Parcells and tell him to challenge the catch, and he didn't talk about the play after the game.

I don't want to get involved, because I think it's just as ridiculous to stomp and holler at people who want to complain as it is to actually complain, and I think both sides have points - but "Glenn knew it was a catch" holds no water at all. Every receiver in the league tries to make non-catches look like catches all the time. Even if he thought he didn't catch it, most receivers try to make it look like they did. On that play, one move and he's gone, a hero. Reading his mind and deciding what he was thinking based on his actions is crazy.

Unless you're Miss Cleo. Then carry on.

Cant be ........Glenn does not drop passes ..... there are many people on this board who will tell ya that.

Yep. Who would've thought we'd be disputing whether or not Glenn dropped a ball in the biggest game of the season? I'm just glad it wasn't TO. Can you imagine everybody's reaction then?

I think it is a catch. The ball can hit the turf if you are in control of it at the time. (for clarity, if you catch the ball and then hit the turf with it, it is still a catch as long as you maintain control of it when it hits. If it bobbles in your hand when it hits then incomplete) His right hand never loses control of the ball(he was palming it) and to me it does not appear to slip in his right hand at all when it is touching the ground.

i think it was a catch also - i just think it's pretty funny to see all these people in an uproar as if it will change anything.

The ball moves when it hits the ground.

Ball movement = incomplete pass.

Again, you have to maintain control of the ball, THROUGHOUT the catch.

then go work for the NFL and fix this. the whining is out of control.

Umm, it's a safety. The game is over and it's on the books. If you can't change it, then it is what it is.

The Cowboys looked like the three stooges during that game.

Next. :)

After looking at it a zillion times, it does look like a catch, he slips, and a fumble. But I still don't think it is wrong to discuss it and it doesn't mean you are a whiner if you want to discuss it, nor does it mean you are a somehow a football guru if you don't want to discuss it.

Officials have been wrong and will be again and to pretend they don't make mistakes worth discussing is ridiculous.

I thought that's what these useless message boards were for. :laugh2:

The ball moves but does not move within his right hand. A big difference there!

Movement in this case did not show a loss of control of the ball.

The pic show him putting it on the ground after he has already caught the ball and tried to move forward.

yea, it's saying we need a "whiner zone".

Another shot...Glenn doesn't even have both hands on the ball.

So are your hands so small that you cannot palm a football. People do make one handed catches. Two hands means absolutely zilch!!!
