Eventually, everyone pays. Patriots had Revis roaming around back there last year, Seattle is paying for Lynch, who will be 29 years old...,,,

And the truth is. Rookies rarely step up in a big big way. It takes them time to adjust......not to say that it doesn't happen. Look at Martin last year. But its a pretty big gamble to rely on a rookie making a big contribution.

And Age is a concern with AP. But we only need him for 1-2 years. get AP, and draft your Yeldon or the guy from UNI, in the 4th or 5th. Since this is a year deep in RBs...

What I'm saying is that I'd rather have the player we get in the first round plus an additional ten million dollars in cap space (3-4 quality guys), as opposed to just one singular running back, no matter what records he set in 2012. One of those two situations to me is a gamble, and it is the one where you take a chance on one player.

Would the Eagles and Terrell Owens situation in 2005 count?

If it does, it counts for the opinion that believes that Peterson will ultimately be released as Owens was, right?

But Owens was an extreme case, unless Peterson is willing to publicly bad mouth the Vikings while do crunches in his driveway...

If Vikes continue to take such a hard line stance with AD, they may have to settle for a future pick instead of a pick in upcoming draft. That works in everyone's favor, except for Minny's.

People ignored my proposition.

Would you trade down from 27 to 45 in order to acquire Adrian Peterson? Our 1st for their 2nd and AD.

All in for that deal. AD and Minny's 2nd is Great Train Robbery II.

I refuse to give up hope just yet.

I would in a second.
But I believe that we are ready to make a superbowl run and I trust Peterson to help us get there for the next 2 years more than I trust a rookie (over the next 2 years)

lol claiborne would likely be an even worse fit in Minny than he is in Dallas.

Not sure what you mean here??? Nude sig? you know hes called the "kraken" right?

Yeah I edited that, it appears doing it after June 1st gives no real relief (assumed he'd have a lot of dead money, but not according to overthecap.com)...but I still think it happens sometime after the draft...whether or not the Cowboys are interested remains to be seen.

Want a sig just like yours, except it would be of AD and the tag line would say "Prepare to take your Beating!". :D

exactly from who, an older busted up RB? oh noes, im sure defenses will be scared. Murray possibly, but AD is over his hey day. He ll run, he might break a few, but for the long haul of 16 games and a gift like last year, i doubt he ll hold up the whole season.

Peterson's a great player and all, and I'd be all over him at the right price if he were a FA, but I have to say, if I were a Viking fan, I'd be getting pretty ticked at the stance he's taking towards that organization. He's got his pride, and he's probably right that there are some in the organization that don't support him, but where's the responsibility he's taking for his actions here? He's the one who put the club and the league in a horrible position re: the PR impact. It cost the team sponsorship dollars and was a massive distraction last season. The whole time he was collecting salary for an incident of his own doing. While I don't think he was beating his kid maliciously, he very definitely went overboard and it was just truly awful judgement.

At some point, a man has to step back and say 'yah, I created this giant mess that the organization then didn't handle well.' And then get back to work and start earning that next $12.5M next season instead of pouting because you think they ought to have had your back more than they did.

Exactly. He caused this to himself. Now he want's to cry that they are mistreating him. I was almost warming up to the idea.
Glad I didn't.
