exactly from who, an older busted up RB? oh noes, im sure defenses will be scared. Murray possibly, but AD is over his hey day. He ll run, he might break a few, but for the long haul of 16 games and a gift like last year, i doubt he ll hold up the whole season.

I wanted to sign Murray too, but you are crazy if you think Peterson is old and busted up.

Of course you cant expect him to come for free in salary or compensation.
Sure he is a risk of declining production relative to his past production (in theory). The other side would wonder how good he would have been over the last 5 years if he was able to run behind this line. So maybe his talent reduction brought on by age is offset by playing behind a line that got Murray 1850 yards last year.

The reality is that the reason running backs have stopped being drafted in the 1st round of the draft is because they have the highest bust rate next to QB. Look at the last 5 years of runningbacks and look at all of the runners who ran for over 1k yards last year. They were veteran backs.
Its not as simple as saying "Go draft a young stud RB".
If it were the Colts wouldn't have signed Gore, the Bills wouldn't have traded for McCoy, the Eagles wouldn't have stolen Murray. They all would have just went out and drafted that stud RB everyone thinks can be had in the garbage rounds of the draft these days.

So what your saying is the Boys should have kept Murray. Because once we got a line he became the best RB in 2014.

People ignored my proposition.

Would you trade down from 27 to 45 in order to acquire Adrian Peterson? Our 1st for their 2nd and AD.

You won't get much support around here for any move that bring Peterson to Dallas. This is the home of the Ryan Williams fan club. Plus many people around here have dedicated so much time to watching YouTube highlights of all the rookie backs coming out and even Ryan Williams highlights from 4 years ago when he was healthy that they don't want there pet cat dreams dashed.

Yes I would.

You guys have all lost your minds. We had the best runner by 500 yards last year and we won 1 playoff game. Assuming Hardy plays we have no money for AD anyway, so its moot, but I have yet to hear a good reason why we would want him given that we let the best runner in football last year go because he was older and going to cost a lot of money. AD is older and will cost just as much and now you are talking about giving up draft picks for him.

Too many Madden players around here...I don't get it.

It isn't crazy to think Peterson is old. He is old by NFL standards for running backs.

If we acquired Peterson this board would collectively faint with glee.

is he getting any younger? does he have something in his DNA that will defy reality. You going to garauntee the Cowboys and me that if hes injured, hes going to deny all reality and heal up instantly? Is there a pill for that. Yes he will get something, yes he might want to run hard, but no, hes not going to bounce back as fast as a younger guy. The reality of it is his time has passed. I dont get this board at times, that screams "GET YOUNGER" and the one position that you really need to get younger we scream "GET SOMEONE OLDER!!!!!!!!!!!"

i just shake my head. Sorry, no, thats it, my opinion, no need for insults.

I wouldnt do anything until after we see what happens in the draft.

This is smart. He is an expensive pipe dream right now. Wait to see how the Draft goes and worse case waiting means any draft pick traded would be in 2016. Dallas has a chance at some comp picks, so a 3rd or 4th wouldn't hurt too bad.

If ARI offers a high pick this year and is willing to pay his salary so be it.

He can't handle the pressure put on him by Garrett and Marinelli.

Have you ever seen Zimmer on the sidelines? Dude scares me through the TV.

I know....... I think the best thing for Mo at this point, is to get a new start , where expectations are as high as they were here in Dallas.......

Maybe not with Zimmer. But somewhere else...

I'd want to see what was available and make a "game time" decision, but I think I'd have to consider it.

On edit: I'd need that contract redone first, though. Dropping 18 spots and paying $13M to a RB is pretty unpalatable.

It's the all in syndrome. We were going to win the SB with Owens to. It was all Tony needed. How'd that work out?

i agree and last year all our FA needed was Melton to make it happen. I get what you are saying. I see it the same way. AP is not going or make or break our year. If anything else, like last year it will be what the other teams do.

Dropping 18 spots in this draft almost means nothing to me.

Well, the latest from twitterverse, I think, have the Oakland, Jacks and Dallas as the interested parties...

If thats the case, i know big if, you have to think we have preference. AP wants to be paid, but why on earth would he go to the other teams?

I do believe AZ is still in the running. And they may need him more then we do.....

I cant see any other teams stepping up...... NE? Denver? Giants?

I think it will come down to AZ and Dallas.....but this has been a crazy off season. Philly came out of no where to get DM.

In the abstract, I agree. I'd want some protection, however, against the possibility that Gurley (or maybe a guy like Dupree or Beasley) was there at 27, so I'd wait to see.
