Wade: Barber has a broken thumb, Ware stress fracture in foot

that was my impression of you, just saving posters the time and giving them the short version.

He didn't get the 'how does it taste' remark, lol.

:laugh2:

well that is a bummer.

I dont see barber's thumb as an issue really. But if ware's foot were to get worse that would be bad.

And people complain that they don't do enough tackling and full speed drills in practice. Think about how many injuries they would have if they did.

if our player get hurt tackling then the solution is probably not to tackle less :bang2:

Ware has been playing injured; Barber has thumb injury

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips revealed Wednesday that OLB DeMarcus Ware has been playing this season with a stress fracture in his foot.

"It will get better with time," Phillips said. "We don't expect it to be a problem."

It certainly wasn't against the Chiefs. Ware notched his first two sacks of the seasono in Kansas City.

"It's been bothering him for a couple of weeks," Phillips said. "His foot was sore, but he played last game and did all right I thought. He's been playing well. It's not a major injury. It's one he can play with."

Phillips also said RB Marion Barber has an injured thumb. More details on that injury to come.

(UPDATE: An X-ray after the Kansas City game revealed the Barber fractured his left thumb. It's the same injury that RG Leonard Davis has. Both players will wear casts against the Falcons on Sunday.

Omg, Wade and this training staff are complete morons. Of course you can play with it but you won't be NEARLY as effective. You get no power of your foot. And it will NOT get better in time. The more strain you put on it the more your going to irratate it.

**** this team right now. They have no clue what their doing.

I cant stand the majority of Cowboys fans, I'm not even sure why I read this crap sometimes. Most of them just B&C about every little thing. Yes players do get injured in the NFL, and teams do try and cover it up or withhold information that the public or other teams do NOT need to know. This is not news, EVERY team does it. So what if Ware tries to practice with it? This is FOOTBALL people not powderpuff. Ware is looking for a new contract, and he leading by example by practicing through the pain. There sure are a lot of (armchair) quarterbacks on this site. I'm sure there are a couple people out there that have actually played this game. You are either hurt, or injured. You play if you are hurt.

I dont understand why people get their panties in a bunch because the cowboys training staff didn't make this news public sooner? Or waa waa waa like the training staff doesn't know what they are doing. Maybe next time they will hold a press conference just to inform cowboy nation that we have an injured player. Can we make any more excuses? I mean really! First its Wade, then its playcalling the its our QB, now it the trainers? Holy hell please people keep it to yourselves or go find a new team!

we could probably have benched Ware when this happened and have him just about healed by now and had the same poor results we've had :bang2:

that's not what people are angry about. people are angry that Barber and Ware have fracture's and the team just did x-rays. at the very least Ware should've gotten them weeks ago. this could've led to more or worse injuries.

Pretty sure the league frowns on lying about player injuries or issuing less than honest injury reports.

Do you honestly believe that the team didn't xray it the moment Ware said something? Or who know's maybe Ware kept it to himself, he has lot of pride. There is a lot of disinformation out there, it's up to us level headed cowboys fans to believe what we want.

Didn't Barber injure the thumb at Kansas City?

This entire post is merely contradictions. If you want to support a losing team then go route for the Rams, wait a minute.... the StLouis Rams have won a Super Bowl since Dallas has won even a single play-off game.

The real fan is just more passionate about winning, the follower not so much.

I see stupid people on this team from the owner down through the coaches and trainers and especially with the players. it's gonna be a long time before this team every gets back to glory.

If I had to bet on it I would say Ware kept the pain in his foot to himself for as long as he could, so I don't balme the training staff for that. I do have to question Wade's assesment that it will get better as it goes, not sure that is very accurate at all.

Contradictions? Please, I'm an armchair QB also but did played through highschool and DIII ball. Not sure where the other contradictions lie.

I dont think we are far off, just one minor change. And that starts up top. Parcell's left this team in very good shape. Since then Jerry took his reigns back and he couldn't have drafted any worse IMO. I'm not saying we haven't found good players in the draft, but it really cooled down after Tuna left town. He really needs to step back and get a solid GM type. Let the GM get all the personnel together, let the coaches coach, and Jerry can sit up in his box and collect that money.

That's a humongous exaggeration. Do not allow the volume of posts to impair your judgment. Those who fit your description do not represent, "the majority of Cowboys fans".
