Funny story.......................so I was in a bar the other day and there was this Cowboys fan I didnt know next to me. Once we figured out we were Cowboys fans we started going over everything.

-I like Dak, he doesnt
-I hate Zeke, he likes Zeke
-he is mad about Cooper, I like that we got rid of him
-He doenst like lamb, I love Lamb

It was literally like I was on the Zone! So I was like..............Ok, well did you like Garrett? And said oh no I hated Garrett. LOL

So I guess the moral of the story is that at least we can all agree that Garrett sucked. LOL
Great story.

When I respond/debate with someone around here, I try to envision it as an in person conversation and respect them as such.

Really.....if that same person said those same things here, you may not have been so nice.

Whether anyone realizes it or not, we are all on the same side, and this place is basically a support group for the hostages of the Jerry Jones ego ERA of Dallas Cowboys football.

I'm not a Dak hater, but I'll answer the question.
Actually, it's pretty easy.
The evaluation is given based on what is AVAILABLE at the time.

For example, if Dak were playing in a league that featured, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Jim Kelly, Dan Fouts, John Elway, Peyton Manning, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees ... would he be considered top 10? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

Now, let's say he's playing in a league with Jameis Winston, Alex Smith, Kirk Cousins, Baker Mayfield, Vinny Testeverde, Trent Dilfer, Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, Mitch Trubisky, Mac Jones ... would he be considered in the top 10? ABSOLUTELY YES!!!

What makes the difference? Simply put ... THE LEVEL OF QUARTERBACKS HE'S PLAYING AGAINST OR PLAYING WITH IN THE LEAGUE!

Currently, how many franchise quarterbacks are in the league? ... Rodgers, Brady, Allen, Jackson, Burrow, Mahomes, Wilson, Herbert. That's eight. So, of course, Dak would be in the discussion as a top 10 quarterback.

But what does that REALLY tell us? Probably not much given the talent above him and the talent existing within the league.

The issue really shouldn't be whether Dak is a top 10 quarterback. But, rather, it should be is Dak a franchise quarterback - one you can entrust to lead your team deep into the playoffs and take the game on his shoulders and win the dang thang - and that on a consistent basis.

Teams aren't looking for top 10 quarterbacks, per say. They're looking for franchise quarterbacks.

Until they find them, your search at quarterback will always be never ending.

Ask Kirk Cousins.
ok, this didn't make sense at all. when was ever a time we had that many HOF time QBs play at the same time? would anybody outside of them have a chance to be in top 10. if Burrow played in the same era as those guys, would he be ranked about any of them? would Herbert? Allen? Stafford? Rothlisberger?

and when was the last time there were that many average QBs in the league without any elite QBs? bet that never happened. tell us when that happened ever?

randomly selecting a list of QBs from different decades and eras to make a case why Dak is a top 10... this was pure fiction and a very circular, fantasy football logic you tried to argue.

at any point in NFL era, there are only about 6-8 elite QBs playing at the same time...that's pretty much the way it works.

sorry, your argument made ZERO sense. had ZERO LOGIC ZERO

Forget stats? They play a major role in evaluating performance.

Don’t forget in the Packers game a 50+? Yard bomb as brought back by an unprecedented illegal huddle. That was points and momentum.

But yea. He and the offense do need to step up, but anyone that evaluates them as worse in any way than the D’s in that game should be questioned.
Stats mean less than nothing.

I definitely believe Dak could get at least to a conference championship game on a better run team. Goff did it, Garoppolo did it, Foles did it, Tannehill did it. Dallas can win but not with Dak. Dak can win but not with Dallas
I agree. we have had Jerry at the helm for 28 years. and nothing to show for it. in fact we are bottom three in that era in playoff success. BOTTOM THREE. so its not just Dak. same arguments people are having about Dak for 7 years, they had about Romo for as many years or more and before that. Dak maybe here for another 2 years or maybe a few years more, and then the next QB comes and half the fans here will side with that new QB and the other half will hate him and argue against him and the results will be the same.....nothing changes....

I have zero hope for this season. its taken me 28 years to get to this point, to the realization that it doesn't matter. we are not going to find success under Jerry as the GM. why do you think Brady chose to go to Tampa and didn't consider Dallas. he knew if he comes here, he is entering the circus and he will have zero chance of winning a superbowl

Not the case we just want him gone so we can maybe get a true Franchise QB and WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN when it counts......
You know against teams with a pulse.....
Winning is this so hard for the Dak Dolls to understand but I guess they have their garbage stats (Primarily from the NFC East) and they're happy.

You have to have luck to get the kind of QB you're asking for. There are many QBs that were touted as that in the first round who flop. We have a very good one who we got very lucky to draft in the 4th round who is a top 10. Sure, he's not Rodgers, Brady, or Manning, but he's a QB with whom we can win. So no, not all of us want him gone. If there's a QB to be had, sure, but we don't have to start a rookie while we have Dak.

You didnt answer the question.

We deserve a better front office. JJ has been in charge of the 28 year downfall... not Dak.

Don't you know that drafting a franchise QB is as easy as 123? Ryan Leaf, Manziel (oof, Jerry wanted him), Russell, Sam Darnold, and Paxton Lynch (oof, Jerry wanted him too) are just outliers lol. Wait, that's a lot of QBs, and there are more, aren't there......umm.....ooffff

how about in '16, Daks the only starter in that group left on the same team and considered a front line started. In the entire 2016 draft a 4th rounder left standing as top 10 starter.

A bus driver just won the SB last year, that's why team building is so important.

If it was only great QBs winning SB's, Brady and Rogers would have won every year.

Exactly, and it was much easier with the defence the Rams have. Oh, and Kupp helps a lot. And having a FO that goes all in.
