What is worse is someone like you who jumps in and weakly insults people for no reason. Are you like 12 years old?

It looks like you're maybe confused, and projecting (insinuating I'm 12 - and thus what, dumb and immature? - is I am assuming supposed to be an insult).

I don't just jump in and insult people (and clearly did not do that here). I'm not sure what you're talking about really.

We are starting to see the annual pre-season predictions from almost all the usual media reps. I’m always amused by not only the predictions but even more so by the fans who scream “disrespect” because their favorite team was predicted to crash and burn. If a writer gives a good prediction, he’s “credible”; if not he’s “an idiot”. Everyone wants their team to be respected and that’s understandable.

This summer’s predictions that I’ve read as a collective group seem to have our Cowboys as high as 12-4 and as low as 7-9. ESPN local writer Todd Archer has us at 10-6 and a WC team. Dallas Morning News’ Jon Machata has us at 9-7 and out of the playoffs. Big whoop. I believe the Cowboys have enough talent to make some noise. Do they have the coaching? We will see.

Honestly, I put ZERO credibility into any of these predictions, good or bad. The NFL is the toughest pro sports league to predict. Raise your hand if you had the Jaguars last year in the AFC Championship? This year, they are one of “sexy” picks which usually means they won’t make the playoffs.

The reason the NFL is so hard to predict year to year is because the difference between a SB winner and a non-playoff team is not that far talent wise. Unlike the NBA or MLB, the talent pool in the NFL is spread pretty evenly, and the way the salary cap is managed these days, teams have a lot of turnover from year to year. Every year in the NFL is a new adventure.

My main point is this- None of us know what teams will be in the SB this year, but as far as getting some of that “RESPECT” that all fans crave, there’s literally only one way to get it with the media: WIN in the playoffs. Get at least to a conference championship game. And guess what? That’s actually fair. You want respect? Earn it by winning some playoff games. This team hasn’t won two playoff games in a season since Barry Switzer was packing heat in his suitcase at the airport.

Here’s a few links to some pre-season predictions...if you care to imbibe. LOL!

2. Dallas MN https://sportsday.***BANNED-DO-NOT-...018-schedule-will-even-year-kind-dallas-again
3. CBS Sports https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...game-for-every-team-plus-super-bowl-champion/

Respect is earned by winning in January. We will get zero respect until that happens. And again, that’s fair! Let’s go Cowboys!

You know who you are by Thanksgiving. I have always found this to be the case.

Right. Coaching is definitely not a strength for us and why more elite talent at the key positions is so critical.

This is whats so difficult and frustrating for me to understand with this team now . There is only so much money to spend on Elite talent . The cap prohibits buying a championship .

But you can spend an unlimited amount on coaching to get the most out of the talent you have , like the Pats do . If Jerry would just get another hobby and make winning a championship at all costs the only priority we would all be happy fans .

We will never succeed or have respect till Jerry pulls out the stops and makes winning the ultimate goal instead of doing it all himself . Its really that simple . We are constantly handcuffed by a man who has to have his DNA on every part of the team and wont pay better qualified people to build the championship team that he has been unable to build in the last 20 some yrs

I think we’re going to know fairly early this season . We have a brutal schedule to begin with. If we get off to a slow start it might be difficult for this young team to recover especially with all the criticism and negative rhetoric surrounding a sluggish beginning.

We’ll see. A fast start could also set the stage gaining confidence. The difference between a 2-2 start versus say a 1-3 could be huge for this team and their mindset.

If they survive the first month at .500 or better the stage is set for them to make a push for a wild card and possibly surprise for once in January.

This team wants respect then they have to take it. Earn it through your victories.

I’m not sure if a.500 start will propel them to playoffs but it should prevent a potential collapse.

If anything, they make the fanbase more impatient than they were in 2007-2017.
Dak had an opportunity his first time out to surpass anything Romo accomplished in the playoffs by reaching a championship game.

The longer it takes to reach that plateau surpassing Romo the comparisons will continue to grow .

Even if The Cowboys have more success with Dak his passing ability and lack thereof could still fall under criticism much like we’ve seen with Super Bowl champions Eli and Wilson for example.

It appears you do not understand what insults are, as the only one doing so is you.
He meant 9 year olds. ;)

Right!

But Romo’s failures doesn’t provide Dak a pass.

Frankly I liked Romo and yes, I do believe he was a better QB then Dak will ever be.

But, to be honest... He never won a Super Bowl, Dak will probably never win one, and Garrett and Linehan are useless. If we do win a Super Bowl with Garrett it will because of talent, not him.

As much as I pick on Dak, I seriously hope he goes out and looks like an all pro... Eating my words, doesn't bother me one bit, as long as we get somewhere.

On gameday maybe. I still think that Linehan and Marinelli are underrated around here.

When it comes to Garrett and player development, he is better than most in developing our draftees and UDFA.

I think Marinelli is a good coach actually. I think his prevent sucks... But, other then that... he has had to work with makeshift defenses forever now.

Garrett is not a head coach though... He should be on the staff to help players, and be their buddy... He is not a head coach. He is more of the guy they need when a head coach like Belichick makes them feel like crap, and hurts their wittle feelwings.

You write like you did not watch AoN. Garrett repeatedly harangues his players for poor play and practice and they listen with heads down and despondent looks on their faces. Leaders repeatedly picked up where he left off after.

And you can tell yourself that Garrett is not a HC but that is delusional. Live in the world as it is not how you think it should be.
