Ware is going to do what he thinks he needs to do. He is simply trying to get paid in what should be his final NFL contract. I think he will realize more sooner than later that getting old sucks but he will get paid.

Well, one is gone. Now, let the other two go and start rebuilding. The OP is spot on with this.

So who signed him to that contract again? Oh yes, the ones who screwed up the salary cap.

Hey, anyone think the dead money that Jay Ratliff accounted for would have been useful? Me too.

Somehow I just can't help thinking that the Ratliff situation is the biggest catalyst for all that we are witnessing currently. One reluctant and recalcitrant player refusing to bend has been instrumental in the now complete dissolution of the Cowboy defensive line. The silver lining is the fact that Jones seems to have gotten a clue about how GM's have to conduct business in today's NFL.

Isn't John Fox a 4-3 guy. I know Miller as the SAM rushes most of the time, but Ware would still be the WDE and still get abused by LTs. If he didn't fit here, why would he fit there?

Yes. As much as I like Ware, the Cowboys need to start preparing for the future. We had Tony Romo, Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware at the height and prime of their careers, and we didn't sniff a Super Bowl, much less an NFC Championship Game. And those three are considerably older. I just didn't/don't see it happening with those three now.
Maybe the savings will get us some young talent in here to start the rebuilding process. But I think Ware's time has come and gone. I think he can make more of an impact with a fresh start and a team that has talent to augment what he has to bring.

God speed, Mr. Ware.

Agreed. I like the move from a smart business move, but hate to see him play elsewhere. We have to accept that he may go out and have a big year next year, but the bottom line is he was not willing to play for the $$ Dallas wanted to pay him here at this point in his career. I think it is a slight ray of hope that the front office may actually take the idea of fiscal responsibility as a priority for a change. We will see.

It wasn't the scheme, it was injuries.

It's part of getting rid of the guys that aren't 100% committed to winning. Ratliff obviously had some issues that didn't bubble up until 2012 when he was hurt. One disenfranchised vet can ruin the atmosphere for the rest of the guys. The Brent ordeal didn't help either.

Can't compare Apples and Steaks. Ware and Seymour should not be in the same level. I honestly do think he would be a double digit sack guy the next 3 seasons. Even 8+ is better than what the 3 lower tier free agents that Jerry is thinking of.

not apples an oranges. seymore was very productive when he was let go. but it quickly evaporated. I think ware is at the same stage. I don't think he is a double digit sack guy unless he becomes a specialist after next year and comes in for passing downs and they manage his snaps.

and its not about lower tier FAs. its about moving on and sometimes its just time to move on

Report - Ware to sign 3 yr deal with Broncos today
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris Bullock @sportsbull 2m
Sources tell me DeMarcus Ware will sign 3-year deal with Broncos as early as this afternoon.

If Ware came back to the Boyz with a 3 year, 30 million deal would you match it ?

The Broncos are all in with Peyton playing on borrowed time.

I think we all know how this ends for Ware in Denver. It's just who is willing to admit it.
