good one you come up with that all on your own?? so fresh.Pot meet kettle.

Look folks, even when you adjust Aikman's stats for the modern era, it isn't impressive when compared to his peers. Now, you can make the argument that the style of offense held him back - but the simple fact is, we don't know. What we do know is, Aikman had a few great seasons in the league and the team being one of the most loaded teams in NFL history achieved a lot in those short years.
But I don't think Aikman is overrated (outside of Cowboys forums and pages) - people usually appropriately rate Aikman. Great QB surrounded by a ton of talent that elevated him. There's nothing wrong with that.
Your friend sounds like he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. Steelers fan?He also said Emmitt Smith isn't even in the top 10 of all-time running backs. I say he's top 5.
ditto but that easy for one weve been posting since 2018 and i have 10x the posts and likes says my level of commitment is exactly what i said, only difference back then is i had to egt Newpapers sports section and highlighter to go find stories and stats then debate with real people, who would not be a keyboard strong man because they would have to own it. call me liar in person and find out. i have 6 boxes of old Newpapers and old gear and trinkets form the old days, used to display them, all over the house
.. the ignore list is easy..BYE i don't debate with stubborn poster who have to be right so much they call me Liar and don't know anything about me..you sir are a horse back end and deserve the list. only way to shut up those that wont let it go...
.IGNORE
Much better than anything you’ve come up with.good one you come up with that all on your own?? so fresh.
Me and a buddy are in a disagreement. He says Aikman was overrated and he's in the Hall of Fame because he was on a great team and that he was a bus driver.
I said to him, without Aikman Cowboys don't win 3 Super Bowls if any at all. Aikman did what he had to do and it wasn't about gawdy stats but if Aikman had to put up big numbers than he could have.

I’d say they elevated each other. Let’s see. First overall draft pick. Check. Three Super Bowl titles and a Super Bowl MVP. Check. First ballot HOFer. Check. Apparently the ones that really matter don’t even remotely think he’s overrated. I’ll take their opinions over any on this little forum.
Yes, those are the types of things we always hear from Cowboy haters. They change the argument based on the topic being discussed. Emmitt wasn’t that great because he had a great Oline. But if Oline is being discussed, they say the Oline wasn’t that good. Emmitt made them. Troy wasn’t that great. He just played in great teams. But they never say the same thing about Montana, who played with the best receiver ever and was also on great teams. You can always count on circular arguments from Cowboy haters. Here in lies the question. For non Cowboys fans we hear how overrated Aikman was and we hear how overrated Emmitt was. But yet they had all this success by a bunch of overrated players lol. It's amazing.

I'm not interested in the team accomplishments when evaluating a single player - it's a desperation argument. You can't accurately evaluate a single player when you bunch in literal HOF and a bunch of all-pros that surrounded said player.
Someone brought up Stabauch earlier - Stabauch had a season, when adjusted, is one of the highest rated seasons EVER. Same with Steve Young. Same with Favre in the 90s. Elway has one. Dan Marino has one. Aikman does not. He had some really good or even great seasons, but they were never of all-time status.
And appeal to authority is a fallacy.
too much to read, i get it , apparently, i should have dumbed it down like they do for Rush.
You need to get out more.
He also said Emmitt Smith isn't even in the top 10 of all-time running backs. I say he's top 5.
Well, you seem to know dumb so it should be really easy for you.too much to read, i get it , apparently, i should have dumbed it down like they do for Rush.
you must be letting your 5yr respond, seems like it.Well, you seem to know dumb so it should be really easy for you.
I agree with you there, he never had an all time season like some of the QB's you mentioned. But give me a QB like Aikman who came up big in the biggest games and didn't crap his pants like some greats have. Steve Young only has 1 super bowl and he was surrounded by a great team, same with Brett Farve. It certainly means something that Aikman was able to win 3 in four years when in fact guys like Farve and Young only won 1 with all the talent they had.
