As I’ve said before, there is always a constant re-writing of the narrative regarding Dak. After his putrid last half of the season last year, his biggest fans started flipping the script that they never declared him elite on this board. Without getting in particular posters on this site, among them folks who claimed he was better than Mahomes or Allen, the following article clearly establishes that people were actually challenging the general claim that Dak proved himself elite, meaning this was a common perception that needed to be addressed.

The numbers aren’t changing since this article has been written. Even without taking into consideration the win-loss record, Dak is horrible when it comes to TD/INT numbers against quality competition and the stakes are high. 2021 was actually a greater demonstration of this very fact that Dak is a garbage-time QB that is basically in the category of a Goff, though we haven’t seen Dak on a team anywhere near as bad as Detroit. Both of them were horrible on their later progressions and both of them were on good teams, beating up bad opponents.

You can’t claim it’s because of the ‘defense’ he loses.

Are we really going to be back at it with the Dak threads that have been beaten to death 20x over?

The draft a QB talk and Dak contract hate are so beat to death...put your name on player that Dallas should hypothetically trade for better than Dak
Could care less about who they draft or what Jerry chooses to pay Dak. If the expectation is to win a title then Dak Prescott isn’t it. Will never be it. Paying someone millions isn’t going to magically give them abilities they never had.

You cant provide a solution...only complain. Probably because there is no QB available that is better than Dak. Sounds like Jerry made the right decision to pay him

This has been rehashed over and over but I think most Cowboy fans are more in the middle on Prescott. He’s average to above average talent level. Prob closer to top 15 than top 10.

He’s only been paid Elite salary which our ownership has attempted to hype as Elite talent. But even his salary has dropped in comparison and not as Elite anymore

Im not sure he had much choice if he wanted to keep him. The mistake made was not signing him earlier. We probably could have signed him for closer to 35 million when Wilson was top paid QB.

2023 is expected to be a strong QB class . It might be the time to draft heir apparent. Then we’d have more options when Daks contract comes up to renegotiate.

The solution would be either build a team around the guy that can carry his behind or draft someone else. Those are your solutions. Expecting that overpaying a guy is going to magically turn him into Montana or Brady however is someone only an idiot would consider to be a viable solution.

Thank you for at least being reasonable.

Yes...Cowboys should have paid him sooner. But it kind of seems like they had reservations and kept pushing it off waiting for him to have a mediocre season so they could use that as leverage. He never did and bent them over the barrel because you cant let your possible awesome QB walk to a division rival and beat you up yearly. Only issue now is...are the reservations the Cowboys possibly had(im speculating) coming to fruition after paying him big?

I honestly dont care because he played cheap and good for 4 years plus cap increases. Dak contract is just used by trolls to hate

We will see. We are good enough as a TEAM to go 4-1 with a back up QB. So I may give him a little bit of slack against the lions this weekend to get the rust off. But he should elevate this Offense if we keep the same formula which is the same formula used in 2016.. If Moore starts calling plays or Dak starts changing plays to one’s that is forcing the ball deeper down field and not running and getting the ball out then this Offense will flounder and stall. Our Defense will get us extra drives and we need to capitalize on it to pull out in front of teams.

I agree. I believe Jethro was waiting for Prescott and team to have more success which would justify paying him Elite money.

It’s probably why we begin trying to make him a pass happy QB instead of what actually set him up for success with strong running game .

Well then it's up to the coaching staff to play to his strengths which is run the ball and play action. Get him moving on RPO's. To expect him to drop back and read the field like Brady and have pinpoint accuracy it just isn't going to happen. The coaching staff should realize what they have and game plan accordingly.

Right? People ridicule the Eagles and Hurts and yet kudos to them for realizing what they have and what they don’t.

Not elite, but a good top 10 QB. He is most definitely an upgrade of Cooper Rush who I am grateful for as he really helped keep any hope of playoffs alive for the Cowboys.

depends on who you ask
@Dak_Attack_09 and @RonnieT24 thought Dak was elite when he was born but no one in their right mind has ever thought that

No, he's not. Think bigger. Look at the bigger picture. Use that thing that's 3 feet above your bum.
I’m way over your head. What is the bigger picture? I’ll give you my perspective after you tell me your version of the bigger picture.
