Maybe, true...Just that TO was working hard in practices, produced on the field, took losses personal and refused to accept losses...Sounds like you'd want more of those types on your club
Except that Terrell Owens took a loss on his stat sheet just as bad as a loss on the field.
Owens refused to accept any culpability, even when he sometimes directly caused bad plays to happen and would still ***** about not getting the ball enough afterwords.
That doesn't mean everything was Owens' fault, but he was part of the problem and an overpaid player in decline.
It was time to part ways.
And even though the passing game is struggling right now, we have the pieces in place for a very good unit.
One thing that hurts us right now, IMO, is Tony Romo only trusts two regular receiving options, Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton.
Romo doesn't have faith in Roy Williams to make a play like the one we just watched Brandon Marshall make on Terence Newman.
Williams can do that kind of thing and the QB is going to have to start looking for him more often in man coverage no matter how "covered" he appears to be in some cases.
Miles Austin has the speed we need on the field if a safety is helping to babysit Witten, but I think often having to read the coverage and adjust his route according to it slows him down.
The Red Zone interception occurred when Austin read the coverage one way and broke inside while Romo saw it differently and threw outside where Champ Bailey made a great catch.
How about less "thinking" on the field?
Don't make the passing game more complex than it needs to be, especially with so many young players on the field.
Witten and Crayton may be fine reading the defense along with Romo, but the others might be better off just running the route that is called and going full tilt.
Simplify things.
