Nope. She was probably one of thousands. I just don't have a lot of respect for people who give up on something. Your wife's situation is a little different. I can appreciate someone who is exhausted and has been working like a dog. You didn't say that at first and she might take offense to you not representing her that way. Better hope she doesn't post her. J/K

I have asked her to post here and she keeps procrastinating about it. I think I will bring her about in the following week. Yeah, she is an insane Cowboy fan. I got really lucky that my wife is a huge fan.

Were talking about a game here. I could care less who turns the tv off and goes to bed. I dont know their circumstances, I dont know how die hard they are or are not because the chose to turn the tv off and I really dont care.

I do take offense to someone who comes in here running off at the mouth about who is and is not a true fan. We're in a freakin dallas cowboys forum in the middle of the day while we probably all should be doing our jobs (hehe : ) Id say we all qualify as loyal fans.

Well said, my friend. People have to remember that we are in this forum. I mean it's like Batman Begins when he finds that blue flower. I mean if you can find this place, that shows you have some determination as a fan. And then to post in here when you could be doing other things shows you care about the team.

I was going to post something like this until I realized at some point in the game I thought about all of those issues. That is what this board is for, to post your opinions and feeling about whats going on, some people may not have as much confidence in the boys than you, almighty one, but it was a pretty tough game to watch! Very high on emotion last night, like saying something you regret to a friend when your pissed or something....chill out, it'll happen plenty more times, just dont get into it.

Great, great post.

For all the people who want to categorize fans and their level of commitment, feel free to put me at the bottom. I don't give a crap.

It's a fricking football team.

Nobody cares more about this team than Parcells. Did you see his face last night during the game?

Perspective.

I'm aware of that, Einstein.

That's my point. Parcells' situation put everything into perspective.

From time to time, it's probably important to remember that this is just a football team playing a game. This isn't life or death.

Unforunately, life and death is to deep a concept for a lot of people.

They miss the cliff in front of them because the are to busy watching the butterfly.

Some of you so called fans should be ashamed of yourselves. Not all, but some. What a joke. Moaning and pouting and crying because the Cowboys were playing poorly. Heaven forbid. It was the 3rd quarter and I was reading that we need a new QB, new OL, better LB's, new DL, new Head Coach and new Offensive Coordinator. It's too long of a season to not expect the Cowboys to play poorly for a period of time. I understand that this is a message board and a place to air your thoughts, but get a grip. Some so called fans were like, "I'm turning the TV off" or "I'm going to bed, I can't watch this anymore". Just unbelievable. I hope the fans who said this, and I use the term "fans" lightly, had the guts to do it, so you missed a great finish.

I've never turned a Cowboy game off before it was over. Never. 1-15 in 1989. Bears destroying us in the mid-80's. I would've missed some great comebacks back in the late 70's and early 80's if I did turn the TV off.

Those so called fans are spoiled babies. I'll give you all a pass if you're in elementary school or middle school, but that's it. I understand you're frustrated, but chill. I never threw in the towel last night, never do. I'm always like, if we can hold them here and then score then hold them again or get an onside kick or cause a turnover and score we can win this.

That all being said, we lost the battle of the trenches pretty bad and didn't play well at all. But I understand that it's going to happen quite a bit during a long season and not to go crazy about it. We'll bounce back. I think the bye had something to do with it. BP said we looked flat in some practices last week and it carried over to the game. Plus, give the Eagles credit. They came out and played a great game.

Go Cowboys!

I wasnt here last night, I was watching the game.

You on the other hand were playing hall monitor with the people who were rightfully grumbling over a poor performance.

Take the Cowboys replica helmet out of your *** and quit being such a homer.
That, my friend, is the post of the day. I had a fatalistic attitude last night, not unlike the triumphal attitude I had until the last 2:00 minutes of the Skins game. I was wrong both times, but it's all part of being a fan. I seriously doubt Glenn Carano would have been spouting his holier than thou rhetoric had the Cowboys lost last night.

I bet you didn't anticipate your post receiving this kind of negative backlash did you Glenn Carano? Maybe you'll think twice next time before slipping into preacher mode.

Well said Chief.

I often wonder how empty the lives are of many of the people that post here that treat all this football stuff like life or death.

Yep on both sides of the coin.

It's always on the extreme side with some of these guys...never in the middle.

Either player a or coach b is the worst ever and needs fired after making a mistake....or no matter what is wrong there is nothing wrong.

I swear I got so I just can't handle the chat because of the extremes of some people and how crazy they act about a game.

However...I will still call some fairweather fans and mean it. :D

People have every right to post and whine about their team. Thats what makes them a fan, that they are passionate enough to complain. If they arent fans anymore after a loss, then they arent true fans.

Hos, if you want your board to be full of people one minute saying Drew should be in the Hall of Fame and the next minute saying we need a QB or Ware is LT one minute and the next Ware stinks and so on, so be it.
First of all, it is not my forum. It isn't the Mod's forum. It isn't even Reality's, though he pays the bills. Ask him, I guarantee you he agrees. From the word go we have always said the membership makes this board what it is. This forum is every bit as much yours as it is mine. The only difference between you and me is a wall you build in your mind between us. I see every poster as my equal and as co-owner of this forum. It is only as good or as bad as the posters (all of us) make it.

Glenn Carano said:
Of course people have a right to say that and have a right to their opinions, but these so called opinions are irrational on a play to play basis. Play to play!
Okay, here's the challenge for you then GC. I want you to give me an outline based on that right there, of a Guideline you think this forum ought to adopt and enforce about when someone can say what they think and when they can't.

I'm going to be honest with you, I don't think you or anyone else can come up with one that will be good for this forum. The moment you take away someone's right to be open, this place will become a ghost town. We already get grief because we ask that the posts be clean. Some love this place because they don't have to see the foul language, some left because they can't communicate without foul language.

So, you tell me how to make that fly, because I just don't see it getting off the ground. I saw a similar instance on a rival forum during the draft where a poster was told he couldn't post his opinion of a draft choice without it being positive.

If that's the site you want you're welcome to it. I wouldn't be at all interested.

Not even week to week which is bad enough, but play to play. It's ridiculous and embarrassing.
Find me a fanbase for any team or any forum where it doesn't happen and I'll show you a forum of 6 Pollyanna's who talk to each other and wear rose colored glasses while sipping Kool-aid.

You're basically saying people have to think like you or else.

No thanks.

I think people can go overboard but so what? It adds flavor to the forum. You can live in your vanilla world. Give me a variety of opinions and several that I don't agree with any day.

I think some of you guys misunderstood what glen was saying. He wasn;t saying its wrong to be critical of the team or pissed off when things are going bad. I believe what he is talking about is posts like this :

why are we calling these dump passes? someone take the clipboard away from Payton.

^^Thta was said after exactly 1 offensive play

The best ones are these this is after the 3rd play of the game:

disgusting GUTLESS PLAYCALLING.... Cowardly scumbagging job by Payton...A ___SCREEN ON 3RD & 12!!!

And that Zimmmer is a jackass!! everytime we blirtz we send the house! the beauty of the blitz is the element of surprise this is lost on him and Parcells.....

Gutless pukes everyone of them

I believe it is these outward overreactions he was talking about not honest criticism

Alot of you are misinterpreting what I'm trying to say. I don't think I'm better than anybody else on this board(holier than thou BS) and I'm sorry that you perceive my post that way. You guys are way off base. And actually Chief and Mikey are proving my point while disagreeing with me. Football is just a game, BP's younger brother just passed and you could see it in his face the whole game, last night wasn't life or death. Not only is life too short, but the time we spend watching Dallas Cowboys football games is too short to be moaning and complaining after each and every play. One play this player is great, the next play he stinks and so on and so on. We spend way more time on here talking about the Dallas Cowboys throughout the calendar year than watching them play football. Why not at least enjoy watching them play the actual games?

Turn the TV off? To me that is so lame, like a spioiled kid. I'm serious. So we'll make 1000's of posts and spend hours upon hours on a message board throughout the year discussing the Cowboys, but when they're losing a single football game that was still winnable at the time, we turn off the TV. It doesn't compute to me.

I got my panties in a wad in the past and tried to find a different site....but could not stand the 2nd grade language and constant barrage of nude pics.

I guess I'm just getting old...and old fashioned :D

Haste reaction is human nature. If someone wants to do it, then so be it. You can go to just about any board for any sport and find the same stuff. Its just how things go. I don't see the point in bringing fans down because of it.

How you handle your emotions/reactions might be different, but no need to call out others for having their own way. It was a huge game and Dallas got dominated most of the night. You won't find too many happy people here while that is happening.
