I think some of you guys misunderstood what glen was saying. He wasn;t saying its wrong to be critical of the team or pissed off when things are going bad. I believe what he is talking about is posts like this :

why are we calling these dump passes? someone take the clipboard away from Payton.

The best ones are these this is after the 3rd play of the game:

disgusting GUTLESS PLAYCALLING.... Cowardly scumbagging job by Payton...A ___SCREEN ON 3RD & 12!!!

And that Zimmmer is a jackass!! everytime we blirtz we send the house! the beauty of the blitz is the element of surprise this is lost on him and Parcells.....

That transitory stuff is basically emotion. Some are more analytical about it. Others are more flammatory. That's just the way things are. I agree with Hostile... Better that than a vanilla world where we can't spit out kneejerk remarks from time to time...

But....are you saying that you are suprised by what you read ?

If you don't like that type of banter...then I would suggest that you not visit the game thead during a game.

My wife has tried for years to try and get me to stop yelling when the boys make a huge play. She finally gave up and simply lets me watch the game by myself in the back of the house

Holy Cow Hos! This is like a homework assignment. I'm at work right now, I'll address this when I get home and have more time.

You can see it that way if you want.

For me it's simply a lot easier to recognize other people don't think exactly the same as I do. I'm not looking for everyone to agree with me all the time. I'm not looking for a forum full of shadows who acknowledge my every thought as valid.

That would bore the hell out of me.

Do I like all the premature evaluation? No, and I'm not saying that I do. I don't see how allowing people a place to vent is "embarrasing" or how it de-values this forum.

That's where you lose me.

I see it all the time too. "So called fans." You know, I think it is absolute BS to question how someone loves the team or whether they actually do. I've said it before, if you are here, I accept the fact that unless you are a troll, you love this team.

Trolls post to draw a reaction. Fans post because they are passionate. Passion is not always rose colored. Passion is a broad spectrum. Governing passion isn't an easy task.

I must admit, I had given up on the game, but I NEVER turn off the TV. For a different reason, I feel the best way for me to enjoy games like this and truly feel vindicated, I must endure the losing.

i totally agree, and i too thought all was lost and i was venting quite a bit about it, but i never turned off the game.

Alway get this argument, almost never fails.

Someone gets mad because people are acting like children throwing temper tantrums and saying this player or that coach should be fired and so on......so they in turn make a thread/post expressing their anger over it....then out comes the hey we can express our opinion champions.

So why is it Ok for Side A to be mad and go off, but not Ok for Side B?...since both are just expressing their opinions or upset.

I do like this thread though. I am glad that the original poster made his statement. It has been somewhat thought provoking and I have enjoyed reading many of the well thought out replies.
