There is another point that needs to be made on this topic

The posters on this forum are of all age groups. There is no age limit requirement to join this forum.

So the reality is that maturity cannot be expected in "all cases"

There has been times in the past where I admonished a poster over a childish comment....only to discover later that they were actually a child. And who do you think felt the most childish following that exchange :D

Good point!

I have done the same and then later realized it and tried to keep that in mind while reading some posters comments.

I guess it's a crime nowadays to want your team NOT to play crap football.

I have heard it is in some Middle European countries...but I may have been given false information.

Football is just a game, BP's younger brother just passed and you could see it in his face the whole game, last night wasn't life or death.
Agreed it's just a game, so why place so much importance on the heat-of-the-moment comments made by a few upset fans. We need our games and our irrational passions. Better we act them out in a message board than in the home or workplace.

As annoying as Nors may be, as immature as Wolverine may come off, as frustratingly level-headed as Brainpaint may be, as all-knowing as Adam may be, and as cool, charismatic, sexy, and intelligent as Jem88 may be, we need the variety on this board. I'll take what I see here over what I've seen at Extremeskins anyday.

All that being said, I must commend you on a cool moniker. What made you choose Glenn Carano?

I think it is even more funny....that people are ripping on the guy or taking him to task for expressing his opinion as well...while trying to point out to him that people are just expressing opinions.

Alway get this argument, almost never fails.

Someone gets mad because people are acting like children throwing temper tantrums and saying this player or that coach should be fired and so on......so they in turn make a thread/post expressing their anger over it....then out comes the hey we can express our opinion champions.

So why is it Ok for Side A to be mad and go off, but not Ok for Side B?...since both are just expressing their opinions or upset.
I know this is going to make you faint but I just don't see it that way at all.

Side A calls out Side B as to whether they are actually devoted to the team. I don't expect Side B to silently take it.

The reason Side B is being called out has everything to do with what they post. How do they defend themselves without this?

you know i turned off the TV like 5 or 6 times, because i was mad at the cowboys, so that doesnt make me a fan, because instead of destroying my house i turn of the game, and calm down?

Glad to know i'm not a real fan

Some of you so called fans should be ashamed of yourselves. Not all, but some. What a joke. Moaning and pouting and crying because the Cowboys were playing poorly. Heaven forbid. It was the 3rd quarter and I was reading that we need a new QB, new OL, better LB's, new DL, new Head Coach and new Offensive Coordinator. It's too long of a season to not expect the Cowboys to play poorly for a period of time. I understand that this is a message board and a place to air your thoughts, but get a grip. Some so called fans were like, "I'm turning the TV off" or "I'm going to bed, I can't watch this anymore". Just unbelievable. I hope the fans who said this, and I use the term "fans" lightly, had the guts to do it, so you missed a great finish.

I've never turned a Cowboy game off before it was over. Never. 1-15 in 1989. Bears destroying us in the mid-80's. I would've missed some great comebacks back in the late 70's and early 80's if I did turn the TV off.

Those so called fans are spoiled babies. I'll give you all a pass if you're in elementary school or middle school, but that's it. I understand you're frustrated, but chill. I never threw in the towel last night, never do. I'm always like, if we can hold them here and then score then hold them again or get an onside kick or cause a turnover and score we can win this.

That all being said, we lost the battle of the trenches pretty bad and didn't play well at all. But I understand that it's going to happen quite a bit during a long season and not to go crazy about it. We'll bounce back. I think the bye had something to do with it. BP said we looked flat in some practices last week and it carried over to the game. Plus, give the Eagles credit. They came out and played a great game.

Go Cowboys!

I was reading the thread last night and thought along similar lines. Gosh... talk about knee jerk reactions...

I hate these posts.

So what. So some people were moaning and groaning. So you take issue with that?

Get a life.
I agree. A game thread is not a place for rational discussion. It's a place to vent joy and frustration during the course of a game. Nothing more, nothing less. If you were not frustrated with the way the Cowboys played for 57 minutes last night then maybe you, Mr. Carano are not a TRUE fan.

P.S. I was very frustrated but never turned off the TV. Never did except for last year vs Seattle & never will again. Learned my lesson last year when I missed the end of 43-39.

Look at the Division record. Unless Skins run table - We beat Giants we will win division in most scenarios. We'd own the tiebreaker.

Hey, you know what, these guys get paid millions to play a sport. There was more emotion on this board yesterday than I saw from the Cowboys team last night. That performance was inexcusable for a professional football team.

Us fans deserve better than that!!!!!
I made a similar post during the game thread stating that it was time for the Cowboys to step up in the second half and show they were serious contenders and win a game for once in Philly. At the time I saw no emotion or fire from the team (maybe due to Parcells- if so I could maybe understand given his circumstances) and wanted to see them challenge themselves. They did so and for that I am very proud of them. It was ugly, but they came through and that's all that matters now.

Brainpaint appears to follow the concept of dialectic thinking.

Whereas you appear to think in terms of logical antithesis. (Which is the correct concept IMO )

I used to sign on throughout the game but this place is nuts during games so I stopped.

I understand the need to "vent' but at times it is over the top. After a loss, Parcells is called "Boobs", dumb, too old, Bledsoe is crap, Keyshawn as slow as molasses, Zimmer a homosexual etc.

During the game, I threw my remote control a few times, figured we would lose as any right thinking person would given how we played. In the end though, none of that matters because we won :D

No one need worry about their Dallas Cowboys fan card being revoked anytime soon. And no one among us merits Superfan status, charged with keeping "lesser fans" in check.

hardcore/never-say-die
ultra casual
glass half empty
half full
hypercritical
easygoing

They all bring something to the table. Even Nors.

No one need be put in check. Verifying fan status is not up to us.

The way I look at it....most of the people on this board spend many hours a week posting and reading.....That alone tells me what kind of fan they are.

Exactly pops. Fair weathered fans don't come around but every once in a while.
