11-12 wins in a crappy division. Probably win the East or at least come close. First or second round loss in playoffs.
You do know we're playing the AFC north and the NFC south plus Detroit, Houston and SF.
Sure the NFC south hasn't very good but they'll be better this season imo.
We'll be extremely lucky to win 8 games.

I’ll wait to see which scrubs we pick up first but Jerry’s definition of “all in” is much different than mine. At this point I’m seeing a non playoff season but we’ll see what happens.

Looks like we need miracles from MM and Dak. Lots of pain. Feels like a rebuild to me.

9-10 wins tops. Just don’t understand why if this is the route they wanted to take they didnt fire McCarthy and just make wholesale changes. This is basically (as of now), them masquerading between a rebuild and competing to keep us fans engaged.

While some may have felt the team was closer than others, they had a chance this offseason to get aggressive and become elite or close to with the right moves and they have conduct business like cowards imo. I’m pretty pissed off and I’m typically optimistic and fair giving out criticism.

They should be so pissed off after Green Bay and mad that they are close but not good enough and they should have done things different. Instead it’s the same old same. Really pathetic

Maybe, they do not believe that performance vs Green Bay showed they were close on any level. Can you blame them? Did either the offense or defense show anything in that game that says the team is on the verge of a deep run. Folding in poker is quitting on that one hand to avoid doing something stupid that has even more lasting impact.

Yes I do blame them. You guys our focusing on one terrible football game. The reality is the franchise finally achieved what they’ve been trying to since 1996, which is building a program that consistently can make the playoffs and win double digit football games. as an organization they are close to putting together a team that could make the championship game for the first time in 30 years if they had a shrewd aggressive offseason.

The goal is always a Super Bowl but They needed to plug holes at key positions like linebacker and d tackle with a focus on stopping the run. They’ve built a good team core that needed peripheral moves in free agency and a solid draft to get on the elite level instead they are doing the same exact thing.

They’ve signed a linebacker for 3.5m and thought 3.5-4m for a rb was too much. They let Tyron go over essentially 6m guaranteed and they haven’t even called any mid tier free agent. Beyond that there are so many holes on the team they need all their picks- so how can they make trades.

What gives you confidence they’ll sign anyone that’s not at best a lateral move in anyway shape or form
It’s almost as if they’re ranking this year and willing to eat Dak’s $59 mil to get rid of him. If that’s the plan I’m down!

Beyond the talent drop and holes, I sincerely believe this team will not give 100% for Dak.
They have lost all faith he can lead them to the promised land and can you blame them?
With Dak No more than 6 wins.
With Trey or Rush (a Combo of both) 10 wins are possible.

The fanbase is already angry and it’s only gotten worse.

The jones family hasn’t lived in a period of vitriol and they are about to see what the cows fanbase can show on the other side.

Your 300-400 level single game ticket group will still come in droves and people like me who use my tickets for clients will always buy simply because it’s an event, but it’s gonna get real ugly.

Wait til radio gets a full taste of 50k boo’s game 1. Gonna be hilarious.

Seriously, our oline has not gotten better, our rb position is weak, besides Lamb our WR are weak. If this court case with Dak drags on, who knows how it will effect him mentally.
On defense, we lost one of the best DC in the league, safeties are weak, LB position is weak, DL is weak. Corner is the strength of the defense as of now.
The draft can only fill so many positions. This season is not looking good
I expect to be entertained....there is still a lot of off season to go for me to guess how good or bad we may be. Either way, I'll be watching like I have been since 1974.

My expectations? A lot of complaining and an overall sense of negativity...and even more of it here on the forum.

None. I said after the playoffs that they could go 17-0 and I wouldn't trust them.

The Cowboys will have had 4 HOFers (1 current and 3 future) play for them the last 15 years:
  • Jason Witten
  • DeMarcus Ware
  • Tyron Smith
  • Zack Martin
And they have 4 wild card wins to show for it.

I have followed the Cowboys for over 5 decades. Having a front office that cannot do better with the talent they have had is pathetic.
A lot of wasted years. That goes for the fans too. That's why so many of us are so frustrated. It isn't even SB or bust. Most of us just want to see us play in a championship game again. I guess we're just spoiled.

The real question is, will Goodell wait for a guilty verdict or just suspend Dak over the accusation like he did Zeke?

Either way, I expect mediocracy.

What I mean is-perhaps the team focused on how the team looked versus Green Bay, San Francisco, Buffalo, Miami, and Detroit. Then they may have come to the conclusion that the squad is somewhere in the tier 2 squads with next to zero chance to graduate to a tier 1 squad. I’m not sure which free agents (that Dallas had the chance to sign) move the needle into the tier 1 team expectation this year.

What will be bizarre, is if the squad extends Dak late in the off-season after making very few moves to address all the gaping holes in the roster. They actually attempted to fill several voids last offseason, but no elite players. This does not seem like the team is trying to even remain steady. It seems like the team is embracing the unknown with rookies and other team’s free agents (very different from the typical approach even with the avoidance in big ticket free agents from other squads).

The 2nd paragraph is exactly why I’m disappointed. A dak extension is coming, whether it’s in August or after next season, he’s gonna be here. If the team was choosing a direction and saying “hey, we are gonna rebuild”, I’d disagree but at least there would be a direction, right now they have 1 foot in reset mode and 1 in competitive mode- the middle the worst spot in sports.

If you are gonna pay dak $60m then you should be doing everything possible to put the best team on the field, at both sides of the ball. You should be going for it in the now. I’ve watched this team restructure contracts and kick the can down the road for years with teams that if everything went right AND they got luck- they’d make the playoffs so forgive me for being disappointed that they have a good core, arguably their best coach since jimmy and they are moving scared.

I’ve been saying this over and over but if they aren’t all in, the smart move it to trade Dak now. If they resign him to another mega contract it will cripple this franchise for another 4 years and piss off the fans even more.

That’s what they will do because Stephen is a jerk.
