Twitter: What does Eberflus credit for the defensive turnaround?

What a pile of BS.

Think about this, add this to any D:

1. Top 3 DT
2. Top 5 LB
3. Top 5 CB
4. Quality slot CB
5. Solid MLB
6. Solid NT.

That's 6 new starters. 6. Over half the D has been replaced. But it's all about consistency and continuity. Eber, if you're going to say something this dumb, just STHU.

6 new players = continuity?
Eberflus was talking about his job....it was Freudian slip....

I still say Eberflus needs to answer for how lost the defense looked the first half of the season. I don’t believe he did what needed to be done to make sure the players were ready. I’ve never seen a defense look as lost and hapless.
The Defense was built around Micah and Micah was traded how is that hard to comprehend?

And I still say fans here do a poor job of evaluating talent and understanding how you must design your D to make up for that lack of talent. The D looked lost and hopeless because we had only a couple or so guys who were starting quality. You cannot make a competent NFL D out of players who don't possess starting quality talent.

Sorry fellas, I love that the defense isn't a screen door for offenses, but we're still allowing too many points with respect to high caliber offenses. We had a TON of players out and there just might be enough time to make a run, but it's gonna be close!
Also, it's nice to see others in the division stinking up the scene.

Let's not pretend we've arrived defensively. Better? Heck yes. But we must continue the trajectory upward. We got a lot of work to do ahead of us. Many obstacles. Some we control, some we can't.
This is true but that's what we wanted right they go from the basement to the middle floor.. That's what's happening it's hard to commingle all these stats and figure out where the Cowboys are at but they're just using the last three games and they have arrived up into that you know 16 to 20 range at just about every category..

But they can still be exposed on the back end you got to hope that the rookie holds up and that some of these guys at least know their assignments and can do an admirable job but they were definitely not a championship defense..

Are still missing some pieces and I'm not sure I'm giving Matt Eberfluous any credit because this guy just went from shopping at Aldi to go into Whole Foods and get a whole lot of high quality ingredients and I'm pretty sure most defensive coordinators can work with that that doesn't make you a great defensive coordinator when you need like players at every level to be superstars in order to even look average.

Sure it's got Jerry fooled because he probably won't fire him now I mean we do need some consistency but I'm sure not sold on Matt right now i'm not getting bright lighted by what I'm seeing because I'm just not sure it's him...

We'll find out I mean the lines are another test they're a desperate team that have a lot of skilled players on offense even with some missing they will make you pay for missing and blowing assignments...

What were you expecting exactly?

We gave up 27.5 points a game with Micah.
I like the Micah trade in how it shook out. A is a game changer. And I know injuries made it tough early. But you have msn CB’s and insist on zone coverage all day is not really smart. I’m not sold on E myself. Hopefully I’m wrong but I think there are better options. I did and still do like shotty. I think he can be a good HC

Let's see, no pass rush and cant' stop the run and questionable talent at CB. What is any DC forced to do? Zone.

Simple football 101 stuff. If you want to hate Eber, have at it, but don't forget to add the talent factor into the equation. There's never been a single DC in the NFL ever who could've made it work w/ the clusterfudge we had on D. Not one.

I don’t hate him. Just don’t like his scheme. I like aggressive defense. I get the talent was poor, injuries were devastating. The secondary is just now starting to get fairly healthy. A guy like a Q was a game changer. It’s not that I don’t like him, I just like more aggressive aporoach and I think when your secondary is beat up so bad it becomes even more impirtant to get aggressive abd create pressure. With the dline we have now you are getting pressure because you have talent so you don’t have to be so aggressive. To me we should have been playing msn earlier and blitzing like crazy. Create some pressure. It won’t always work and you will get gashed sometimes but we was anyway. I hope I’m wrong and time will tell

I admit it, I don't really like Eberflus. The guy is somehow kind of cocky while having the personality of a doorstop.

I hope he proves himself worthy the rest of this year and comes back, though, because it would be ridiculous to be on our fourth DC in four years.

I would say Eberflus does a poor job of evaluating talent and he gets paid millions to suck at it. Chicago got better the moment he left.

I know it's unpopular to say anything positive about our safeties, but it's worth noting that Hooker and Wilson were both injured during the worst stretch of the season, including the Broncos and Cardinals debacles.

I'm not saying those two are great players, but we missed them when they were out. Sanborn also went onto IR right before the Denver game. Again, I realize Sanborn isn't an ideal starting LB, but when you lose both safeties and your middle LB around the same time, that's losing the heart of defensive communication. The defense was incapable of working as a unit. Those who dismiss the impact of these losses—all at the same time—don't understand the importance of communication on defense.
the crazy thing about them "not being great players" is that a couple of years ago folks were talking so highly about our safety group. kinda crazy how things change.

Depends on which kind of cheerleader fan you ask, some blame our MVP Pro Max QB other the defense and his so called coordinator.
Their needs to be like a universal number of points.

Like when KC is 6-6 and only gives up 19 points a game that should be 100% on the QB, but Molehill gets a pass.

Then same uneducated cowboys fans, that give Molehill a pass, blame Dak for being 6-5-1, when our D gives up 29 points a game and we have the number one offense.

Make it make sense.

That's the point, his scheme was forced due to extreme lack of talent.

It's the opposite. You are forced to play zone w/ a lack of talent. Being more aggressive would've made it even worse, much worse.

Easy. Fans are not very football bright. They are unable to see the complete picture. Just basic fan stuff.
