Twitter: What does Eberflus credit for the defensive turnaround?

First and foremost, more talent. Especially at DT. Players becoming more adjusted to the system and executing better. Our D-front is not getting pushed around. Clowney and Overshown help too. I thought Clowney was washed. He looks halfway decent out there.

nah. there was a brief period where they were looking really good. dono looked poised to be a star
Meh. We have a roster full of SSs. We need a cover S. Not one of those who were "looking really good" was a FS type.

Dono made a few plays. That doesn't make him poised to be a star.

Can't be adjusting to the system. We have 6 new starters.

It's more talent, pure and simple.

I admit it, I don't really like Eberflus. The guy is somehow kind of cocky while having the personality of a doorstop.

I hope he proves himself worthy the rest of this year and comes back, though, because it would be ridiculous to be on our fourth DC in four years.
He ruined our season with that jacked up zone scheme.

Ruined it.

Let's not pretend we've arrived defensively. Better? Heck yes. But we must continue the trajectory upward. We got a lot of work to do ahead of us. Many obstacles. Some we control, some we can't.
Something that Schoty and Eberflus can control for sure is keeping Kenneth Murrays defensive snaps to a bare minimum and not having on the field if the game is on the line or crucial downs. He had one job against KC and that was to spy Mahomes and he was nowhere to be found or couldn't even maintain a gap. I'm surprised there's not a backup or practice squad player that could permanently replace this guy.

I meant in the secondary. Guys were breaking free all over the place. We didn't replace the entire secondary. There had to be some adjusting.

you’re talking about what we need and in hindsight. i’m talking about how it felt and was perceived on the moment. we disagree and that’s fine, but curb the condescension please

X a zillion. How is Murray still even on the roster? Dude can't play. Why not put Bell or Juanyah at LB? We've played a S at LB before, it can't be worse than Murray.

Nope, not talking about hindsight. Wilson isn't a cover S and never was.

Sorry bout the condescension.

Defensive turnaround?? are you serious? look at our Defensive ranking,Eberflus is the worst Defensive coach we have ever had and we had some bad ones.
